Picked up a 2010 crown vic

I'm in south Louisiana so rust shouldn't be an issue. The under side is clean. I was actually surprised when I got it up on the ramps to change the oil at just how clean it was. Not a single wet spot of oil or anything. I got a cylinder 4 misfire after washing the engine...even tho I was super...

Picked up a 2010 crown vic

So for you, or anyone else that’s had one before, anything to look out for or things that need to be taken care of first?

Picked up a 2010 crown vic

Picked up this nice 2010 Crown Vic police interceptor the other day. Been on the look out for a while for a clean one then this one came up. It’s not perfect by any means but overall it’s in great shape. It’s got 130k miles and 2877 hours on it. I already threw some Valvoline high mileage semi...

    Valvomax drain plug "system"

It is esp when the oil drain hits the front sway bar and makes a mess. I put one on the wifes expedition and did 1 oil change with it so far and I'd say it's deff worth it. I had a Ronin brand one on my F150 that replaced the plastic quarter turn plug. No problems with either.

What 0w16 are you using in your newer toyota?

My dealer put in 0w-20 in my Camry Hybrid on the 2 free changes so that's what I use.

‘22 Toyota Camry Hybrid 35k mikes on car; 5k on oil Out - PP 0w-16 In - Mobil Hybrid 0w-20 Wal mart was out of the 0w-16 so I hope my car doesn’t blow up running the 0w-20 🙄 lol

Champion of the Walmart Shelf! SuperTech vs QuakerState vs Valvoline

I need 6 quarts so I go with the havoline pro-ds box. Even with the recent price increase I still come out better with the $30 buck box versus buying a 5qt jug and 1 1qt bottle. And it pours so nicely out of the box it's almost worth it just for that.

    Post your latest oil change

For our 2019 Expedition. The Fram had holes in the center tube instead of louvers so it must be and older stock? The last one I looked at at this same wall mart had louvers.

    Post your latest oil change

For my 2022 Camry Hybrid. I put 20k miles on it in 8 months, so I think I’ll be extending the OCI a bit.

2021 Lincoln Navigator L, 3.5L Ecoboost, 3000 Miles, Supertech Advanced 5W30 API SP

You do you my brotha, I'm not trying to stop you. Just trying to understand the need for all the oil analysis that's all. Sounds like your driving style and environment is harsher than mine and I'd prob be doing frequent changes if I were you too. There are millions of these engines out there...

2021 Lincoln Navigator L, 3.5L Ecoboost, 3000 Miles, Supertech Advanced 5W30 API SP

Strange cause my brother in law has a bone stock 2019 F150 with the 3.5 with over 100k on it an it runs like a top. This used expedition we got is also very smooth, much more so than the '15 we had. The '15 always had a strange flutter/stumble at idle. Sounds like you just had bad luck or are...

2021 Lincoln Navigator L, 3.5L Ecoboost, 3000 Miles, Supertech Advanced 5W30 API SP

Just curious, do you plan on changing AND testing the oil every 3k miles? Seems like a waste to run a cheap oil and get it tested every time versus just running a better oil. Then to add to that, you're on your 3 Navigator in 5 years...Do you plan on keeping this one forever or just 2 to 3 years...

09 Mini Cooper S...I hate this thing...won't start

Well I'm done with it. Sold it to Copart for $900, they are coming get it later this week. All told I prob put a little more into it than that between what the shop charged and the parts I changed. It wasn't meant to be. I guess my dad put a curse on it before he died.

09 Mini Cooper S...I hate this thing...won't start

So I just tried to hit it with starting fluid and still nothing. Went in on the cold side charge pipe, that was the closest I could get to the throttle body. Now the scanner won’t even connect to it. None of the lights work, the windows don’t work, pretty much everything electrical either...

09 Mini Cooper S...I hate this thing...won't start

Yes on the fuel pump prime. I've shot fuel out of every orifice that I could find while cranking it. As I stated in the first post, I sent the key, the ecu, and the cas module out for testing and they installed it in their parts car and it fired right up. So that's not the issue. I'll try the...

09 Mini Cooper S...I hate this thing...won't start

To answer a couple of questions... A independent mechanic shop that specializes in bmw's looked at it and couldn't figure it out. The closest mini dealership is over 200 miles away. I have a BMW code reader. It's not throwing any codes. It's getting fuel and spark. I've had the entire air...

Bought a new car, Camry hybrid

Yeah I'm pretty much 95% steady speed of either 60mph or 70mph. I rarely ever sit in traffic. I've been averaging a pretty consistent 50 mpg per tank (hand calculated) We've had a couple of "cold" fronts push thru these last couple of weeks and it's been pretty windy and that dropped my last...

09 Mini Cooper S...I hate this thing...won't start

It's a turbo, throttle body is pretty much under the car and inaccessible. From doing some digging on a Mini forum, it could literally be anything. Found something about JBE fuse box in the passenger kick panel. I'll have a look at that when I get home.

09 Mini Cooper S...I hate this thing...won't start

That was with my BMW specific code reader and the fancy one at the shop. I do have a new crank and camshaft sensor to put in it for ****s and giggles, but the tach does move while it's cranking so I'm sure the ones in there are fine.
