I recently bought some moog front upper mounts and well to put it bluntly they sucked. The bearing was supposed to be crimped in so it didnt clunk about but guess what neither one was. I took a hammer and a brass drift and made one work but slipped on the second one and killed the bearing. I...

Yes Sunfire girl, you almost died.

I was almost hit by some genius a week or so ago who missed his turn and decided to make a blatantly illegal maneuver. God forbid you have to take an extra five minutes to back track to the turn you missed. Its much simpler to kill someone.

I think thermostat stuck open. That goes on for a couple days then on my way home it begins to overheat (it was running cold the...

    Bad PL14610?

So I was looking at a PL14610 I had for another car that I never used and found this protrusion into the center tube. There are no signs of the filter ever being dropped or anything to damage it. Sorry about the pictures its kind of hard to get the camera to focus down the center tube.

Well I am about 90 miles shy of 105k so what better way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon. Here is the new belt installed. I realize the marks on the belt dont line up but its because the engine has been turned. Upon disassembly I found this on my crank pulley. Here is what was replaced...

Saw something cool at the shop this weekend.

I got home and found a AAA race trailer with this inside. We were doing some work on the generator on the trailer. They had us put a roof A/C on it last year but there wasnt a car in it! Its an M1 filter btw.

Noticed them at my local store too. The electronic filter lookup had been updated to include them also.

    Turbo Cooldown

Being that modern turbos are water cooled I usually dont unless I just really stressed the engine. If I feel I need to let it cool down probably a minute.
