    Supertech/ Champ micron rating

No I am not afraid of getting hit by lightning, but if I did, and it was preventable, I'd probably be mad at myself for letting it happen. The reality is I can buy a filter for $3.98 that my vehicle manufacturer warranties. It's readily available and is a good quality filter also. It's just not...

    Supertech/ Champ micron rating

I ran the Champ PH2835 on a Fusion 2.5 for 12 (5k) oil changes ( I bought a case from RA ). I cut 2 or 3 open, and they all looked great. IDK if or what the difference is in the AC Delco E-core version equivalent, but it's probably the exact same filter as the PH2835/ST3614 and they are OEM on...

    Champ XL filters

No matter. I'll be watching for it either way. Probably more realistic to do it @ 6k miles, but the suspense is killing me, not gonna lie...😂😂

2015 Ford Escape 2.5L, do any oversized filters fit?

You should have plenty of room for an FL-400s or any of its cross referenced filters if you have another brand preference. The reality is, the longer filter will make no difference, but I too run one in place of my 910s just so I can sleep better at night thinking it's doing more. 😉

    Pro-Tec 107

Wix and Purolator both owned by Mann/Hummel could be a logistics thing? I saw somewhere else two napa filters with identical part numbers, one a wix and one a purolator. I guess if one has a preference, online ordering might not be the way going forward?

    Motorcraft 820s cut open

Yes I used the Purolator 14610 (7317 equivalent) on a Nissan Frontier for several thousand miles, I believe the 14610 was one of the worst for tearing? I bought a case from ebay. When I sold the truck I had 3 left so I gave them to my parents for my moms Subaru. My dad had the 3 in his garage...

    Motorcraft 820s cut open

No desperate attempt. Just an observation. I am not a "MC" or die guy. There are plenty of them on here as well as the Fram or else guys which you proved by responding to a post that I never mentioned Fram. If I'm being honest, the desperation appears to be your defense of Fram for no reason at...

    Motorcraft 820s cut open

First off, I don't particularly care for the 820S, I don't like that it's pleats are wavy and will usually have that one pleat that has a wide space. If my vehicle called for that size, I'd do a Napa/Wix. That's just me, I'm not saying anybody is wrong using an 820. Plenty of high mileage Fords...

    Motorcraft Fl500s cut open

The 400, 500 & 910 (aside from the somewhat recent ADBV being cut) usually look great.

UPDATE - Defective Fram Ultra? Missing ADBV leads to engine damage in 2018 Mazda6?

The owner appears to have documentation from an authorized Mazda dealer citing the oil filter as the cause. I doubt the dealer stuffed a phony ADBV into the engine to get either the owner or Fram to pay for an engine. Crazy things happen. These filters do have a certain human element in their...

Spray Wax - What is the Point?

I agree with others on the TW Ice Seal N Shine. The stuff is amazing in it's durability. It's already become legendary with many detailers. It's a little less forgiving on dark vehicles as far as removal as it's easy to over apply. A chemical is a chemical whether it's spray or not doesn't...

    MC FL-910S, 5.8K, ADBV cuts, C&P

Does the Fram have a base plate bypass or dome end? With the carbon settling to the bottom, I wouldn't want a dome end bypass personally. I have been using Napa Silver 31348 on our Edge. I will cut one after next oil change. The ADBV is kinda irrelevant with the filter mounted vertical with the...

    Motorcraft 820s cut open

Personally I wouldn't use an 820S, there are more reliable offerings IMHO. But it's funny to read the trolling. People will rip MC for the 820 tears, but will defend when brand X has an ADBV that gets sucked into an engine causing catastrophic damage. I used Purolator 14610's for about 80k miles...

    MotorcraftFL-910S

Those specs were wrong, I believe those were from Advance Auto a while back. I saw them referenced as counter argument to using the longer FL400S, because in those same specs it had the by pass specs being way different on the two filters, which they are not different. I use the 400S ( the...

    Champ XL filters

I would like to see a C&P of these. Thinking about ordering these from RA when I replenish my inventory, but that won't be until fall most likely. I am interested in the 2835XL and/or 400XL, but I really would like to stick to a base plate end bypass since all of my vehicles have filters mounted...

    Prime Guard oil filter porn

Yes I do recall now. The base plate design always confused me with the multiple hole design. I actually ran these (Champ) on a Fusion 4cyl for 160k. I cut 2 or 3 open over 5 years and they were fine after 5k OCI. I never posted pics because I didn't know of BITOG then....I'm sorry....🙏🙏🙏🙏 😂😂😂

    Prime Guard oil filter porn

Just saw these filters at RK the other day, the RK6607/POF 4612 looked exactly like a black ST 6607 (Champ) and the RK 3600/POF 195 looked exactly like a Champ filter. I looked up Prime Guard which took me to their website which says they are a Nigerian based company that was formed to support...

Who makes the Rural King “Harvest King” brand oil

I know this is an older post, but these questions seem to come up frequently. Doing a search takes me to results mainly saying this oil is made by Citgo. I have seen post where Rural King customer service has even suggested it is Citgo oil. I have been running the RK branded (when it was still...
