ZF Lifeguard 9 compatibility with transmissions that use ZF Lifeguard 8 or Mopar 8&9

makes you wonder if they've cut corners to make the formulation supply chain easier to produce...while "claiming" its equivalent and if its better to go with a different ATF like Redline D6? The only concern is really the initial change that now you're blending two different ATF's...

ZF8 tool to remove more fluid?

https://ctatools.com/products/7650 Had anybody ever used this? I find the tool but very little real world info. It says it hooks up and provides 8psi of air to flush out more fluid. Any thoughts here?

I don’t know, just posting what the print off says.

Object ran over - vibration. Places to look?

Unfortunately vibration still there although it feels a little better. Maybe I’ll call them back and ask about that 12 wheel if it could be the source at all still.

Object ran over - vibration. Places to look?

I am confident they would have caught a bent wheel because they have an in-house machine shop for wheel repairs. This shop is high end and not somewhere the average consumer goes. The parking lot's only Honda was a Type R, rest are Porsches, BMW's, Mercedes etc.

Object ran over - vibration. Places to look?

No. I guess I don't know if those are before or after. If they are after then I wonder if the -12 wheel is the one to watch for the next time around (and possibly the one that was on the same side that the other wheel was damaged from the object). Either way if the vibration is gone, no reason...

Object ran over - vibration. Places to look?

Just got the car back from Roadforce balancing. They said everything went well and a couple of wheels needed the bead adjusted along with a few other small adjustments. It says on the receipt: LF: +7 RF: -7 LR: -12 RR: -2 Its pouring with rain here today so cant get the car up to 80-90mph to...

Object ran over - vibration. Places to look?

Roadforce balancer better choice? There is a really good shop locally here that frequently does high end vehicles, Lambo's, Porsches, Ferrari. Always see them parked out front. If you guys think thats the next logical step, I'll drop the car off after xmas and have them roadforce all 4 and see...

Object ran over - vibration. Places to look?

I got the car up in the air today. I couldn’t find anything obvious. -Grabbing the wheel 9-3 and 12-6 yielded no slop. -I set up a screwdriver attached to a bench and spun the wheel and found no discernible runout. -vibration analysis below. I did it at 60min but it doesn’t vibrate at that...

Testing an inexpensive brake fluid tester - "ITEQ" - $10.

Not getting any air out of the lines so it’s not quite that hands off. You still need to bleed all corners periodically. I’ve owned this tester for 4 years now and it’s been great. I live in a dry climate and brake fluid for me lasts ~4 years before it hits 2%. In reality in a dry climate doing...

Object ran over - vibration. Places to look?

Thanks guys that gives me some focus ideas. I’ll get the car up in the air on the quickjack, pull all the wheels off and carefully see if I can see any other damage to the other wheels. When the new tires were on they obviously rotated everything. It is Quattro so I’ll also check the axle...

Object ran over - vibration. Places to look?

2019 Q5. Wife says she ran over a pipe or something like that. I didn’t hear about it until I drove her car a week later and said somethings wrong what happened… -One tire had a bubble in it- replaced all 4 tires as they were 4/32 anyway. Still had a vibration after replaced. -Inspected...

    N55 37k - QS 5-40. 5k interval how does this look?

Thanks. I mean overall the actual metals in the analysis look average to others' N55 reports I googled. So even if a few other areas might be slightly different, should I really care if the wear metals are fine? I mainly changed the oil as well as the filter they used was definitely a chinesium...

    N55 37k - QS 5-40. 5k interval how does this look?

Not that I am aware of. Think I should run another UOA in 5k and see what it looks like? I did grab 8x5qt jugs at Walmart when it was sale in the summer for $15/jug, so I do have a lot of it now LOL. Most of the other reviews of this oil are pretty good for a Euro LL01/229.5 oil One thing I...

    N55 37k - QS 5-40. 5k interval how does this look?

First full 5k oil change interval on my 2016 535i. Just rolled over 38k. Driving is mixed freeway and city, some short trips but always >5mi so its close to operating temps by the end. Probably 60/40 freeway city split roughly. Quaker State 5-40w (ignore the 0W30 reference in the image they...

Quickjack new owner - any tips?

Thanks! I have a 535i and a Q5 so the 7000TLX I got should work for both from my measurements. Have you done anything with casters to help move around? I also found some UHMW tape I was thinking of applying to the underside of the frame to give it a little protection from scratches?

Quickjack new owner - any tips?

Hi all - After many years of looking at the quickjacks, I finally bought one for black friday and just finished setting it up and the cylinders bled. Anybody have any tips from long-term experience? Anything I should know or good practices to follow? Thanks!

    Cost to ship wheels today?

Someone bought my car, and he wanted the stock wheels, he drove it across to the east coast from AZ. Sounds like shipping isnt going to be worth it then and he should find some stock wheels local.
