Yea they are $20 plus delivery here and $36 on amazon AU. I'm using a Fram Racing now $23 delivered. You can't get a decent filter in Australia under $20.

Flow and viscosity are two different things. 0W is only so the oil can flow at freezing temps. 0W is a lot thicker than summer rating even at 50+

Because its too 'thick' at start up. 0W = High viscosity compared to summer rating. Just remember a turbo is trying to spin bearings in that at crazy rev speed. 165 degrees minimum. Oil temp.

All the K&N range will do the job or you could run a fram racing filter with 94% efficiency at 20 micron which is likely better than the K&N's. I'm swapping over to the fram racing filter because they are about the same price as any decent filter in Australia. I run 50 or 60 grade in a modified...

I have used it many years ago with some old oil, worked well. Best to change to a quality gear oil though if you have the time etc.

No its actually very similar from 30-85%. The ethanol gets into the oil does its damage and then is easily burnt off that's why you won't find as much fuel in the oil. https://www.sae.org/publications/technical-papers/content/2009-36-0117/

Well it depends how short you want them, you can still get 3k out of the most stable oil/grade. If you had some of the choices here in Australia with Nulon you can still run nearly 5k with a little track time and ethanol fuel (e85).

Don't use an oil with any ester. Ester at any rate and alcohol fuels is not a good combo. @edyvw will have some good suggestions. I would still run a 50 there was still a small improvement anyway.

If that UOA is correct use a 50 or 40 in the winter without any ester.

The meth/water will be breaking down the oil pretty quickly. Most who use any alcohol, e85 etc usually go up a grade, especially if the car is modified as well. Are you in Australia or NZ?

Same, my turbo sounds awesome spooling with a turbo side intake and K&N and the lovely dump charge is a classic.

I would be flushing that motor or its not going to go for long. Big warning sign that one.

Good oil, one of the best I have had in my modified XR6 Turbo. The 5W is a little step up as well. I'm on the full synthetic Nulon Street and Track 15W50 next after the 5W50 Nulon racing oil which is really just too good unless you are doing significant track days.
