    The Total 15w50 that we get in Europe has this description: Synthetic based oil for Gasoline and Diesel engines. ACEA A3/B4. API SL/CF. PSA PEUGEOT CITROENB71 2294 & B71 2300, VOLKSWAGEN 501.01/505.00, MERCEDES - BENZ MB 229.1 I don't think you could go wrong with either product.

    Total make quality products,and i wouldn't think twice about using their 10w50 in the correct application.As the fourth largest Oil and Gas company in the world,i doubt they would be making up info on their TDS/MSDS.Total is French,nothing to do with Russia.

    Shell Rimula R4 X

    According to Shell UK,the product has not changed,just the name changed from Rimula RT4X to Rimula R4X,same product.TBN is 10.5.I use it in my European Ford Escort,1985 1.6 OHC/CVH Engine, thanks for the recommendation by FordCapriDriver earlier in the year.

    Fischer Tropsch base oil is listed in the MSDS for HX8,so they may be using the same GTL base for both HX8 and Ultra,just marketing the HX8 towards a different sector with the ECT tec.
