    Cordless Rachet Wrench

I own and love my Snap on CTR761 and CTR714. I tend to use the 1/4 CTR714 the most. If cost is the big concern , I have seen cheap odd brand ones on amazon. Not sure but does Princess Auto in Canada carry any? I would look there.

High LTFT at idle, no vac leak

Might be a good idea to smoke test this one , clean the MAF sensor as well. Many times carb spraying will not find every little leak there is.

Would you leave a dealership for an independent shop?

I have been in your exact position before. I left a dealership position for a Independent garage. It is a major adjustment in so many ways. The pace of work, customers and work itself is so different at times I felt like in a different industry. There are clear advantages and negatives to both...

Having a common battery for all my tools is nice!

I love the 14.4v line. Ive got the 3/8 impact, ratchet and new 1/4 ratchet. The 1/4 ratchet with the smaller head is the best, might be the most used tool in my box. You need this tool trust me!!

New 2019 Kia Soul non turbo

5K on synthetic would be fine. Use the oem filter, dont stretch it to long as the 1.6L has a small sump capacity. The gdi engines really can fuel dilute the oil , especially in winter.

Control arms: What is one to do?

Exactly what Trav said. Somethings almost have to be OEM , control arms on WJ are just one of those things. Short of OEM , maybe the Omix-ada would work. On my XJ , I used Dormans . Terrible mistake , alignment geometry was wacked. The thing tracked like [censored], wouldnt align at all. I must...

2000 Buick century front brake job and a wheelStud

Everyone had a first brake job at some point. This should be a easy first one. First off the Centric rotors and pads should be a good fit for a non abused daily driver. Syl glyde is an excellent guide pin lubricant and can absolutely used where grease was, just clean all the grease off. On the...

    AMSOIL Euro Classic 5W-40 (EFM)

I would go with Liqui Moly , its a good solid Euro oil. If it is availablelocally like you say , might be easier to keep for your service needs. I have a small Euro fleet I maintain outside of work also , Liqui Moly has worked well. I usually get it on amazon , and if I need a qt or two I can...

98 leaves needs work or 02 taurus, which one?

Sounds like the Buick needs to be properly diagnosed. I would pressure test the cooling system after replacing the radiator. Radiators on a L36 3800 are not hard to replace and are cheap as well, replace it first. Second pressure test it , you may find a leak anywhere from a hose to the plastic...

Do you guys use a torque wrench for oil drain plug

I use my snappy tech angle torque wrench. Use it on drain plugs, spark plugs and pretty much everything. Plugs get new washers also. Is it overkill, yeah most likely. But these are not my cars I’m working on, people pay and expect it to be done the “book” way so that’s how I do it.

    Any apple experts here?

If you can ,go to an apple store. The Genius bar should be able to do a hard restore. This is coming from my wife who is an apple manager , I know nothing about apple products. Hopes that helps.

What lubes do brake manufacturers recommend?

Often overlooked part of a brake job is cleaning the rust off of the caliper. Im talking about where the hardware attaches to the caliper. Always best to remove the rust to the bare metal , then apply hi temp grease. The pads will fit better , wont stick in the caliper ears etc.

08 Grand Caravan with 156k. ignition problem

Does sound like a transmission issue .I have seen similar driveablilty issues due to a clogged fuel filter. As the van likely has a in tank fuel filter/sock , try a good dose of fuel system cleaner .Check the plug and wire conditions also.
