2017 Hyundai Tucson DCT substitute fluid

Good day everyone! I'm a car maintenance crazy person! I typically dump factory fluids and replace with synthetics. However, Hyundai recommends straight 70w GL-4 DCT fluid. I want to use a synthetic alternative but I haven't been able to find a synthetic single weight oil. Any suggestions for...

    2017 Tucson 1.6T oil recommendations

Update While at the dealership service department yesterday, I asked the service manager what type of oil they use for the Tucson turbos. He said they use Quaker State green bottle 5w-30 (conventional) for everything. When I referred him to the ACEA spec in the owner's manual, he said "that's...

    2017 Tucson 1.6T oil recommendations

Good evening! I just purchased a 2017 Tucson with a 1.6 turbo engine. The oil specs in the Tucson owner's manual states ACEA A5 is recommended. However there is a note that states "If ACEA A5 is not available in your country, you are able to use ILSAC GF-3 (or above) or ACEA A3 (or above)"...

    Any Synthetic 10W30 Users ?

I've been using Kendall GT-1 Full Syn 10w-30 in my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.3 V-6 and my 2016 Kia Cadenza (same engine). Kia and Hyundai both state in the owner's manual that 10w-30 is one of the recommended weights. I just prefer 10w or 5w.

What oil 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe? V6 engine

We own a 2014 Ultimate. Been using Kendall GT-1 Liquid Titanium synthetic 10w-30 year round for the last year. Great oil.

    Kendall GT1 High Mileage

I've been using Kendall GT-1 full syn 5w30 in all of my vehicles for years. Great oil. No issues. Our 2014 3.3 liter Hyundai Santa Fe loves the stuff.

    Specialty Oil Brand

I'm a huge fan of Kendall GT-1 full synthetic with liquid titanium. Been using it in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT and 2014 Hyundai Santa FE v-6 (both direct injected). Both engines love the 5w-30 flavor of this oil. I get it from a small mom and pop repair shop near me for $36 a case (12 qts)...

    Full synthetic for Kia Forte?

I have a 2012 KIA Forte Koupe with the 2.0 and it is a noisy motor. The 2012 is not DI. The dealer's KIA master tech advised its the cam and valves. I have tried every oil to quiet it down without success. I've used 5w20, 5w30 - both synthetic and conventional. QS Ultimate durability, Advanced...

Oil recommendation - 2013 Dodge Dart

Ok, so after a little research and an ounce of common sense, I've come to my own conclusion. BMW M Series engines, Audi engines, and Bugatti engines all spec 40w oils, at a minimum. Bugatti specs a 60w oil. I highly doubt Chrysler has designed an engine that has tighter specs and tolerances than...

Oil recommendation - 2013 Dodge Dart

UPDATE. The local Dodge dealer advised a good synthetic 5w30 was acceptable in the Dart even though 0w20 is suggested. They have been substituting 5w30 occasionally without issues. From the research I've gathered it seems 20w oils are for CAFE ratings, only. Auto manufacturers are being pushed...

Oil advice... New Hyundai LWB Santa Fe

We had a 2011 KIA Optima 2.0T as well. No issues at all with that DI motor, so I think the long term with Hyundai/KIA DI engines look really good. That's why we went with the SF Sport 2.0T initally. Loved the engine, the size of the SF Sport was just a tad small. I'll have to say, the V6 is much...

Oil advice... New Hyundai LWB Santa Fe

Good evening all. We traded our 2.0T Santa Fe in for the long wheel base Sante Fe 3.3L GDI V6 last Saturday. Couple of questions... I am fairly old school when it comes to OCIs. I plan on doing a 4k OCI with this engine. Would QSAD be a decent choice for this DI engine? Or should I go with a...

Oil recommendation - 2013 Dodge Dart

Thanks for the replies. I think I will find an oil that meets the Chrysler spec. I don't recall the owner's manual referring to meeting any spec but I guess it can't hurt. Our Wal-mart does't carry much 0w-20. When it does, it usually doesn't take long for it to disappear off the shelf. I've...

Oil recommendation - 2013 Dodge Dart

Good morning everyone. We are about to take delivery of a used 2013 Dodge Dart with a 2.0L I-4 with only 15k miles. Got a GREAT deal on this baby. While I'm not a huge Chrysler fan (was burnt back in the 90s by a POS Intrepid)this car seems very solid. Research indicates it's an Alfa Romeo...
