how do these new idiot lights work in the newer cars? are they calculating idling time, cruising speeds, how hard the vehicle is driven, etc and then putting it all together to figure out when the oil should be changed? or do they have some sort of sensor in the engine that can tell oil life...

i'll be using this in my wife's 05 toyota tundra 4.7l

congrats i'm trying to figure out when to have kids. my wife's been wanting them since we got married. i'm 24 and she's 22. Maybe we should just go for it. only thing is, i want to make a career change in 2 years (get out of the coast guard) congrats again

the small cascade gel packs clean everything off. i can put plates in w/ huge chucks of food and they come out clean. takes magic-marker of bottles.

amsoil calls for a sdf-57 for both the 2.7l tacoma and the 4.7l v8 in my wife's 05 tundra. that being the case, can i use a left over tacoma filter in the new tundra that i have from toyota? p/n is 90915-yzzd1 after the warranty is over, i'll go to the bigger sdf-15 thanks

it specs toyota genuine ATF WS yes it is the 5speed tranny. what a nice transmission, it down shifts as you slow do. they really out did them selves on this one. take your foot of the gas and you can feel it kick down a gear. can't wait to tow with it.

we just brought my wife's 2005 tundra double cab home and low and behold the transmission has no check/fill tube. what gives! hey toyota, how can i check and fill her trans w/ amsoil!! should i have it flushed ever 15k or 30k? how do i add auto-rx we will be towing a moderate sized trailer...

put a shop-vac on the fill tube. turn it on so it sucks (it works better if a buddy operates it and holds it for you) then change the gasket while it's sucking. it helped keet the 4 gallons in my powerstroke. it didn't spill a drop

it's an auto. evidently there is a fill plug on the side of the transmition and below than, an over flow plug and then on the botton, obviously, the drain. if i decide to mess with it i'll just put they same amount of fluid in that i take out. or i'll just bring it to the dealer for a free cup...

thanks we ended up going for a new double cab tundra 4x4 for just under invoice. we paid 26,800. i think we made out pretty good. we got more truck for less $$ and NEW! and that wonderful 4.7 thanks again

my dad has one of these in his tundra work truck, great engine and i've heard alot of good things on this site about it. why is it this engine in the 4 runner and sequoia requires 91 octane?

i'd love to see a VOA of this oil. the only reason i haven't done it is i can't justify it to the wife (read wallet). she allows my oil sample every now and then but i can't get crazy, we're trying to buy a house.

it doesn't seem like anyone uses amsoil's synthetic blend. i have used it for this winter and have about 6500 miles on it in my 95 powerstroke. at 7000 i plan on sending it in for analysis and will go from there. i'm hoping i found a good oil in this stuff. my reason for using it is the 15w40...
