    Tell me about fog lights

They are only useful in extreme snowfall or extreme fog where visibility is severely limited. Where visibility is so bad that your low beams can't even light the road. In regular conditions the increased brightness close to the car is distracting. It makes your eyes want to look closer to your...

My 2007 Accord with 666,800 miles (Valvetrain Shots)

If the PO had it dealer serviced there is a good chance they had it done. I think it is in the service schedule.

    Rotor/Pad Options for 2018 Mazda CX-9

Mazda OE (on my Mazda 3 it's made by Akebono) is better than Bosch IMO. Bosch has the classic aftermarket soft pedal feel. Mazda OE has better initial bite.

Worried about legal issues with "lighter" tires on my F-350

Unless your insurance policy explicitly or implicitly forbids it it should be ok. Here is the NY state inspection procedure for tires. Original size or load rating is not checked.

    From Toyota to Stellantis.

Fiat is best at building small affordable cars. 500, 126, Panda, Cinquacento, Punto, etc. had big sales. These types of cars are not popular in the US to begin with. Still, there is some market for cars like this. Mitsubishi Mirage is selling. The US pricing for Fiat seems high. So without...

A tool to clean interior windshield

I double checked my glass and most of the scratches were on outside, so it wasn't the microfiber that scratched it.

    Is Dealer's bulk oil bad?

It's a good deal for the average person, but not a BITOGer. Dealer bulk oil does not compare to changing the oil yourself and using a top quality oil. If you want the best, don't even think about it.

    Post your Winter wheel/tire setup

I thought it's the same tire, but DM-V2 is the truck/large SUV version.

Impressed with Krown: 2018 Silverado 3500

Did you just buy the truck? This doesn't look like Krown to me. Looks like one of those spray-on paint-based coatings. You can see overspray on what I assume is the driveshaft? I use Krown because it's the easiest to find in Canada, but I think the product and application process is dated and...

Cheap rotors or too aggressive pads?

To test for sticky brakes spin the wheel. Apply the brake hard, release the brakes, and spin the wheel again to see if there is a change. It looks like sticking brakes or just overheated poor quality pads.

A follow up to my latest thread - Dealing with car insurance companies.

You pay 288 USD a month for car insurance? Am I hearing that right? That's even worse than for a new immigrant from India with no driving record, driving in the Toronto, a region of Canada where insurance fraud, accidents, auto thefts including car jackings are a daily occurrence. I thought in...

    Squealing brakes at low speed

Some pads simply squeak, and it's not an install issue. I've experienced it with some cheap pads.

    Subaru or Mazda?

Reliability wise: Mazda Even without major Engine/CVT issues, the quality of all their parts is not at the level that I would expect. There are EyeSight problems, steering racks crapping out, etc. Ever since they fully divorced from Ford, I think Mazda quality is decent.

    TGI Fridays files for bankruptcy

People's tastes have changed and expectations are higher. Good restaurants have so much business it's hard to get a seat.

Is it safe to ducktape tires?

They hold air but both holes are down to the belts. Obviously I drove over something but I wonder if duck tape is a contributing factor. The first one I will replace the whole set due to age (2018). The second one, I wonder whether it could be repaired and I could drive another summer (around...

interesting info about carbon capture tech

This is the original article. https://www.nature.com/articles/nclimate3004 I agree that looking at greeness in sattelite images does not equal biomass. How much of the rainforest was cut down since 1982? How many trees would be required to actually offset the amount humans are producing...
