2006 CR-V AWD Gas Mileage Dreams

Hi all, ⚠️Warning: potentially annoying post ahead⚠️ So after an unexpected hit and run (while parked!), my 2007 Honda Fit was totaled. The used car market is crazy right now and especially here in LA. After wanting another Fit, but being unable to find one with the right combination of...

Center electrode erosion causes? 2007 Honda Fit

Installed new, legit NGK 6774's this afternoon gapped to .04, reset the codes, test drove and we're all good. Will test the coils when I do the valve adjustment later this weekend (hopefully). Thanks for all the feedback as always.

Center electrode erosion causes? 2007 Honda Fit

The plugs in question have just under 65,000 miles on them. They were installed at 90,756. Sorry for the confusion. And I used a wire gauge, but will be using a feeler gauge this go around as I have them (as I'm finally getting around to valve adjustment).

As I continued my research, I came across this and... yea, bought the plugs from eBay back in 2017. Problem solved.

Honda CVT - Metal Shavings on Drain Plug

That’s good to know. The CR-V is my girlfriend’s vehicle and I’ve just started taking on the care and maintenance of it.

Honda CVT - Metal Shavings on Drain Plug

Thank you all for the knowledge and input. Will rest easy(ier) now. I failed to mention, but the old fluid looked pretty good when drained. The first 1/3 to drain was considerably darker/thicker, but by the last 1/3 it looked practically new. And yes, I’m following the “severe condition”...

Honda CVT - Metal Shavings on Drain Plug

Hi all, Vehicle in question is a 2016 Honda CRV 2WD with a CVT transmission and 37,600 miles on the odometer. I changed the CVT fluid last week (using Honda HCF 2) and was a little surprised to find grease and metal shavings on the transmissions drain plug. I wasn't aware the the drain plug is...

    Changing Climates, Change Oil Viscosity?

Thanks all for the continued opinions. Will run with what I've got until the MM tells me it's time to change (currently at 40%) and have Blackstone run the numbers. Will stick with PYB 5W-20 at that change interval. If the numbers come back and cause alarm, then we'll take it from there. As...

    Changing Climates, Change Oil Viscosity?

Thanks all! Will be indeed sending the oil into Blackstone this go ro-round as the oil has seen the drive from Albuquerque to LA and then LA driving since March. Will also stick with 5W-20 for the next go 'round and see how that all plays out.

    Changing Climates, Change Oil Viscosity?

Hi all, My 2007 Honda Fit has been getting Pennzoil yellow bottle 5W-20 ever since I've owned it, all year long. I recently moved from Virginia to Los Angeles and won't be experiencing those seasonal fluctuations as much as before. On top of that, the car will see much more stop and go...

You're About To Drive Cross Country...

Thanks for all the tips and advice! The trip went well, nothing broke, the Honda Fit wouldn't be my first choice of cross country cruiser, but it did just fine. Was able to sleep in it one night along I40 in Arizona. The winds were blowing so strong, the little Fit rocked me to sleep as if I...
