    1/4” power ratchet

The M-12 non-Fuel is the only one I have experience with, but I own it and love it. Mine is the 3/8" drive but I use it often with a (included) 1/4" drive adapter.

1/2" Cordless Impact for home wrenching... Ryobi? Thanks in advance.

I'd probably agree that the Ryobi is a homeowner-level tool but I've had one for a few years and it's been just fine. It was cheap, I use it at home and bring it in the race trailer where I use it primarily for lug nuts and also have the cheap $20 inflator that uses the same batteries. I...

Tell me about 1-stage snow blowers

Also in Minnesota, and my driveway is relatively small at 3 cars wide and maybe 40 feet long. I stick with only a single stage blowers as they can handle just about everything and I'd rather not store a larger machine. I just know that on the rare occasion that we are getting a ton of snow, I...

Snow Blower....haven't started it in 2 years.

I think everyone (myself included) is wondering about the point of your post. You didn't ask any questions about what to do prior to starting to increase your chances of it running better, or share results about what you did to get it started. What are you trying to tell the world, or ask the...

    Racing Oil

I drag race a 1970 Nova with an alcohol carbureted 468 BBC, and a rear engine dragster with alcohol injected 632 BBC. As another posted, I was a big Kendall green fan until it went away, and I've been using Valvoline VR-1 since. Always conventional 20w-50 with Napa Gold or Wix filters. I also...

    Preferred 1/4 torque wrench?

I picked up a couple of the Harbor Freight in 3/8" this summer for some small engine stuff. The click is not audible and sometimes difficult to feel. Plus on one of them, the inch pound graduations are a little "off" where the zero doesn't come in right on the 20, 30, etc line as it should. I'm...

    Tool Storage In Unheated Space

This is the first winter I've had a heated garage in Minnesota, and my race trailer has always spent winters in unheated spaces. I've never done anything special with tools over winter and never seen an reason that I need to start doing so.

Best Priced Value cordless impact gun?

I've had a lower-end Ryobi for about 5 years that I purchased this time of year along with an impact driver for the same $99 price tag. It's been used almost exclusively for lug nuts but it's been a great tool, especially for the price. Zero regrets.

VIM Stubby Hex Bit Set, Metric, 9-Piece

A couple years ago I was searching for stubby 7/32" to adjust the band on a powerglide transmission while in the car, and Blue Point is also where I ended up.

Tools that that you thought were stupid to buy when you bought them and now can’t live without.

OK, not all that many but just on the 2nd half of Page 3 I have the Shake 'N Break and center punch in my Amazon wish list to buy later. I also recently put some tiny gearless ratchets on the list, but I guess I picked those up from a different thread here.

I just want to note how much I enjoy this thread. It's been somewhat costly, though!

    NHRA Pro Stock Bearings

As RDY4WAR stated, to me it's more a show than a competition with an interesting outcome. Being inside that part of drag racing, I'm sure you feel very differently about it as you should. My biggest concern is that the nitro fields seem to only be shrinking, the TV audience is small. If...

    NHRA Pro Stock Bearings

You are correct, and there is a little more nuance to my opinion than what I typed. It's a unique motorsport in that there really aren't any 'feeder' series a racer can use to climb the ladder to the top. Sure, there is Top Alcohol and that is/can be used as a stepping stone to get the feel...

    NHRA Pro Stock Bearings

I would agree with both of your points. Drag racing at the professional level is, for the most part, just a bunch of rich people and their friends playing with their toys. There aren't any qualifications needed to ascend to the professional ranks as a driver other than the ability to bring...

    NHRA Pro Stock Bearings

I think the mag and fuel pump restrictions that have been discussed in the past would make a lot more sense than a cubic inch reduction. My reasoning is that it would likely reduce expense to the teams to keep the cubes and just run them 'easier'. Making a smaller engine and pushing the envelope...

Chinese digital calipers and battery life

I've dealt with this battery issue as well, and thanks to this thread I have a vintage Fowler/Helios 6" Imperial/Metric dial caliper arriving today!

Tools that that you thought were stupid to buy when you bought them and now can’t live without.

I never knew what a hex impact driver was really for. I found a great deal on a Ryobi 1/2" impact wrench and 1/4" hex impact driver combo, so I bought it for the wrench. The wrench has definitely been handy, but I fell in love with the hex driver and now own three of them. Use them all the time...

    Micheal Jordan / Denny Hamlin

This seems like a very odd question to ask about an entrant into a racing series.

    Electric Ratchet

Same here. Use it all the time. Mine is a 3/8" but came with a 1/4" adapter. My usage is probably evenly split between the two drives, but I've never felt like I should have a separate 1/4" drive unit. That Husky looks thick in the handle, but I have fairly small hands. I hate to say it, but I...

    Beginner tool Set

I wouldn't hesitate to grab a decent deal on a Craftsman set. It's a great way to start with an array of 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 ratchets/sockets without breaking the bank. And the quality is decent if not professional-level. Add or upgrade pieces down the road as-needed.
