All the terminals where I've ever loaded fuel, 90 rec is simply the 90 octane base stock. It still gets the same amount of detergent blend as 93E10. The state doesn't give warnings for that. If they find the product falls below the spec window...they shut it down on the spot.

2 scenarios that are likely here...and both involve the delivery driver and likely just a random inspection by the state. Possibly diesel was dropped into the premium and the state test deemed it cross contaminated. OR...the carrier brought too much regular. A sloppy/lazy drver didn't check...

That has never been my experience. Most every pad imprinting to rotor issue I've ever seen was a result of improper bed-in. I've "fixed" a lot of other people's mistakes over the years just by resurfacing and reusing the existing rotors as long as they were in spec and proper bed-in procedure...

Had a similar issue recently as well. I simply took the rotors and had them turned and kept the brake pads since they didn't even have 200 miles on them. They guy who did it said it was becoming more and more common for people to bring in brand new rotors to be turned before installing them...

To achieve 87E10, the CBOB is 84 octane + 10% of 111 octane ethanol to achieve 87 where I am. Premium is 90 octane CBOB + 10% 111 octane ethanol to achieve 93. Mid grade is 60% 84 CBOB, 30% 90 CBOB and 10% ethanol...blended as it's loaded.

I can show you various manifests for different brands. Each time, all the other brands are nearly 10% on the nose...BP however contains 10.2-10.25% every single time. Doesn't matter if I load 1000 gallons or 9000 gallons.
