There's no way a small block chevy hydraulic flat tappet cam valve lash is too tight at just 1/4 turn past zero lash. That cam is close to stock or just s step above. Out of the couple dozen engines I've assembled or had a big hand in...I've never adjusted less than 1/2 turn past zero lash on...

Did you adjust the valves ¼ turn past zero lash with the lifters primed or dry? I have always presoaked new lifters before installing them, then primed the engine until I get oil to the rocker arms then and adjusted the valves ½ a round past zero lash. If dry, I'll go to ¾ to 1 turn depending...

Too involved, too expensive and still a risk of getting caught. Pumps and under ground storage tanks have to be inspected every year to keep their permit. The state inspectors leave no stone unturned. They are extremely thorough and you can't hide anything from them...they're good.

I have never been offered any compensation or bribe to do it. It is ALWAYS the foreign independent store owners asking. A lot of times, they will purposely order too much Regular unleaded...thinking I will just dump it into the premium because it's easier than finding another store to take it...

Just a FYI, the 90 rec gas has the same amount of detergent additives as 93E10. Yes it's a unbranded product which gets a generic additive package during the loading process. So you may not be getting "Techron", but still getting a generic form of it. Do with this information what you wish.

Thankfully for us, our gas is the same formula year round.

So, I just read your reply as I was waiting in line to load a little while ago. After I loaded, I went inside to retrieve my manifest. I asked the terminal operator if any of the ethanol free gas that comes through this terminal contains any other oxygenates...his reply was no. Only detergent...
