Opinions needed about these homemade car ramps (pictures)

Hello. I'm planning on purchasing a couple of ramps to lift the vehicle just in case I had to face more complicated tasks (i.e a clutch replacement). For those wondering, I drive a bimmer and those dont require removing driveshafts to perform a dual mass clutch replacement. Up until this...

I have a question for american (US) users.

I just want to know if diesel BMW e90 was sold in US or not. I only see 6 cylinder gasser e90's in YouTube , but never diesel nor 4 banger gasoline ones.

18.000 miles no oil change in a '96 Renault and I opened the valve cover

that oil jar had 5 liters of capacity. And I dont butt head over oil maintenance with my gf at all (I was kiddin in the OP), I just care the minimum about it, and if I care is only bc she doesnt like cars at all and she relies on me when it comes to her vehicle's maintenance.

18.000 miles no oil change in a '96 Renault and I opened the valve cover

this is exactly the way my gf thinks maintenance is... she actually washes the car once a year (every summer) and takes it to the tire-shop when the tire threads look like slicks. (well, she also takes it to the gas station)

18.000 miles no oil change in a '96 Renault and I opened the valve cover

231000 km on it, which is 143000 miles I gotta say that the car has his days numbered, since this weekend started to make a noise coming from the gearbox or the clutch, i'm not sure. It works propperly however, but I think it's just a matter of time that the wear becomes noticeable the noise...

18.000 miles no oil change in a '96 Renault and I opened the valve cover

the main reason behind the usage of wasted oil from now on is bc I don't think I have to run with any cost of a car which isn't mine. And yes, my GF is very cheap with everything related to her car (and she also has no idea of the consequences of neglecting it, I just told her a couple of times...

18.000 miles no oil change in a '96 Renault and I opened the valve cover

Yes, in europe most oíl change intervals are longer for modern cars with fully synthetic long life oíl. this car runs 10w40 (conventional oil) which interval is scheduled every 10.000 km , so 28.000 km is way more than it's suppose to handle.

18.000 miles no oil change in a '96 Renault and I opened the valve cover

Nothing needs to be fixed now. I just changed the valve cover gasket and car is running as always. There's only one issue: valve lifters make a ticking sound for a couple of minutes when cold, but other than that it runs ok so far. Needless to say that I have not changed the oil, I don't think...

18.000 miles no oil change in a '96 Renault and I opened the valve cover

My gf owns this '96 Renault Megane Diesel (no turbo, 60 HP naturally aspirated). The last OC was performed before the pandemic (more than 4 years ago and 18.000 miles). She's been warned multiple times of the importance of OCI's (well, her bf is a BITOGer lol) (edit - MOD) The car was leaking...

Why the exhaust of my diesel BMW generates a wet spot on the ground?

this is why I'm concerned: the picture I attached was taken when I came home from a long trip with the engine hot, and it still created the spot on the ground. However, when I started the car this afternoon when the sun was shining and the ambient temperature was hotter, it didn't create that...

    Did I destroy my engine?

Not every head gasket failures show up the same way. Sometimes it just warps so slightly that the leak only reveals itself at a certain range of temperature, this is why the amount of coolant lost is so little, bc it only burns it at a certain range of temp. Some cars with issues like this...

Why the exhaust of my diesel BMW generates a wet spot on the ground?

It only happens when the ambiance temperature is low (lets say under 10 degrees celsius). It's a diesel 320d. It doesn't throw up visible steam, it only creates that wet spot on the ground. But when I put a cardboard it doesn't get wet at all! The same occurs when I put a piece of cloth, or a...
