PQIA tests five ATFs - one gets Advisory

I have used MaxLife Dex/Merc ATF in both my '06 Grand Prix GT S/C (4T65E-HD) and '06 Magnum R/T AWD (NAG1) and have firmer shifts with the shifts kits that I have installed in both than with ATF+4 or Dexron VI. It has been a great synthetic ATF for me. The fluid in both is still nice and clean...

    Synthetic Lucas Oil

If you are talking about synthetic gear oil, then, absolutely I would recommend Lucas Synthetic 75W140 and 75W90 gear oils. I use both grades in my '06 Magnum AWD and have seen an increase in 1/4 mile time over Castrol products in the front and rear diffs on the same engine running the exact...

Hey randomhero439. I forgot to put in the grade of oil. Seems like you are on to something here. Are you thinking about patenting the equation? What about these two: 2006 Chevrolet Colorado 3.5 I5 running 5W30 Pennzoil Conventional API-SN and, 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt 2.2 L4 running 5W30...

No, not because you think I am suggesting that it is a low recommendation, but the fact that Pennzoil Ultra is regarded as being one of the highest quality and longest lasting oils on the market. I was just wondering if it the case across the board with all SN 5W30 full-synthetic oils or just...

Thanks again randomhero439! With the Grand Prix, is it just because of the Ultra's formulation or is this the case for all synthetics that I would use in a 5W30 grade in it? I ask because I am currently using QSUD, but have some Ultra and PP on the shelf that I won't be using in the Magnum or...

    Why Valvoline is so famous?

I have never had an issue with Valvoline products. I run Valvoline Dexron VI, brake fluid, coolant in my Grand Prix and Synpower in my Magnum. I find Valvoline SynPower stands up best to extreme temperatures in the Magnum with the least amount of burning and topping off compared to BP's Castrol...

    dang you GM

If you really find it hard to find parts, try RockAuto(dot)com. I have always found what I need there even to cross-reference something.

I would be hard-pressed to believe that that bulbs could not be cross-referenced back to another bulb. I've even seen Saturn's and Honda's use 194 peanut bulbs for dash and instrument panel bulbs.

Can you make a heater blow hotter?

Most likely the heater core is the issue. Very rarely do I see a thermostat go on any vehicle under 160,000km these days. Heater cores tend to be the issue with the 2007-2011 Honda's (even though yours is a 2012 - it depends on when it was built) especially since Honda has been outsourcing some...

That's true with pretty much all Gm vehicles. But, I have the same issue with my Dodge. I just replaced the radiator (because of blow out), fan assembly (because of a stiff motor), upper and lower hose's and coolant. I had a similar situation but had a couple of overheating moments before it...
