Road trip with 4k miles on oil already

First thing I would do is not stress.... The second thing I would do is take the trip, have fun & change your oil when you get back.... If you have any indications that the engine my blow up on a road trip you have bigger issues than the oil ...

2006 Honda Civic (recently bought from my son as a 2nd car beater) 164,818 miles on the clock OUT: not sure I think Super Tech 5w-20 Unknown miles on oil. (MM showed 40%) In: Valvoline Restore & Protect 5w-20 I figured this car may be a perfect candidate for R&P considering the miles and the...

    M1 5w30 EP | 2,500 mi | '23 Civic Type R

I got pretty much the same result with my 23 CTR. The 0W-20 tested within in viscosity spec on a 5000 OCI. 7.45 cst. @ 100c The last 5w-30 UOA tested a bit low 8.74 cst@ 100c. 4000 OCI.

2023 Honda Civic Type R (PUP 5w-30) 4170 mile OCI

Oddly when I've run 0w-20 it has remained within viscosity spec. At least on the UOAs that I have done.

2023 Honda Civic Type R (PUP 5w-30) 4170 mile OCI

Honestly mostly of the miles are expressway miles on my work commute. I normally don’t push it that hard although I did just get back from Tail of the Dragon.

2023 Honda Civic Type R (PUP 5w-30) 4170 mile OCI

This was the last of my PUP stash. I now have HPL Premium Plus 0W-30 in the sump. I will run 2 OCI with the HPL and do another UOA. Most people suggest no further than 5000 mile OCI on GDI turbo charged engines, but I drive quite a bit (mostly expressway) ands find myself doing oil changes every...

It is, but I decided I will run a 30 wt. as a buffer against fuel dilution. Although on the one UOA I've done it didn't show significant fuel in the sample.

What Is The Difference Between Using 1Qt HPL EC Or 1Qt of HPL PCMO for cleaning?

I'm in no way trying to hijack the thread, but I just bought HPL Premium Plus 0W-30 for my 2023 Type R. I have 30,000 miles on the clock and none of my OCI have gone longer than 5800 miles. ( most are around 4-5k) . Other than the factory fill I have used nothing but quality oils i.e. PUP...

Phoenix, AZ - 115F Temps - Honda CRV 1.5 Turbo Engine

I'm a bit of a Honda fanboi and follow a Honda tech on the tube. He seems to knowledgeable and standup guy... Anyway according to what they see at his dealership the blown head gasket issues on the 1.5t engines is by far most prevalent on the Accords with that drivetrain.

    Just Rolled in....

Don't know about you guys, but I'm almost obsessed in the opposite extreme. Every time I get out of the car I make sure there is nothing left behind on the seats, floors or anywhere else. I dust the dash, doors and console area many times week. The carpet is also vacuumed cleaned at least 2-3...
