Fleetguard on everything not John Deere. I just get the number from the Fleetguard site and then buy on shop.cummins.com. They’re cheaper than the parts stores like NAPA, and it’s easy for us to buy over $75 for free shipping when you start adding oil and air filters.

Manual for the 22 RAM says on diesels every 15k, 12mo, or oil change indicator, whichever comes first (page 366). It's a little overdue, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't take any chances and rebuild the motor so all the old engine oil is completely removed.

If you live near a John Deere dealership, they sell oil analysis kits. I paid $16.88 plus tax at my store. Much cheaper than what NAPA wanted.

Years ago, we had a service advisor try and convince us that a warranty issue with a turbocharger on a Duramax was due to the John Deere 15W-40 we were using being "too thick." Same advisor also tried to sell an oil change because the oil was black.....on a diesel.

At 7 quarts (almost two gallons!), that's a big oil pan. Don't worry about the minor overfill.

Unless there's a simple rebate deal from another brand, I buy the 6qt Havoline ProDS smart change boxes from Wal-Mart. The 3.5L EcoBoosts take 6qts with filter, so just dump the box in the crankcase and go. I change per manufacturers recommended intervals.

Motosel looks to be nothing but a reputable oil blender. A bunch of their stuff is API certified, and they have multiple Dexos 1 Gen 2 items as well under Motosel and Purezone labels. I would not hesitate to use their products if I was in Canada.

If that has a 3800 V6 in it, coolant leaks from a bad intake gasket aren't uncommon. Considering the age of the vehicle, as long as the loss isn't severe, you could probably just monitor it.

Modern API oil standards are backwards compatible. Any diesel oil that meets current specifications should be fine. Shell offers a 10w30 under their Rotella label. If you have a John Deere dealership in the vicinity, their Plus 50 II oil is quality, and they have it in a 10w30 as well.

I call engine flush products wallet flushes, but that's just my opinion. We use Amsoil's flush at work at the insistence of my boss on his vehicles and equipment, and it doesn't seem to hurt anything.

Unless you're seeing evidence of oil foaming, I wouldn't worry about the sump being a quart overfilled on a V8 truck/SUV engine. Feel free to drain a little oil out if it helps you sleep better at night.
