Are there any moderately/low priced 2024/25 new vehicles without the auto start/stop "feature"?

The 2024 Corolla is the only one that comes to mind. Sure that will change in 2025.

Why so many new Nissans & Hyundais on the lot but few Toyotas & Hondas?

2 dealerships within 10 miles of me. 0 Corollas of any trim level in stock. Within the same radius you can get Elantras and Sentras in every trim level.

Why so many new Nissans & Hyundais on the lot but few Toyotas & Hondas?

Aren't the same supply chain/semiconductor shortages?

    Smoothest Riding New Car?

The Nautilus is an interesting consideration. That's a gussied up Ford Edge correct? As long as it doesn't share mechanicals with the latest Explorer ... that seems to be a disaster.

Which manufacture makes the best active safety features? (non-luxury brands)

As of 2022 looks like most active safety features weren't very good. I'm guessing warning systems like rear cross traffic alerts are more useful than active collision/braking avoidance. Haven't been able to locate much on comparison of different brands except several year-old YouTubes of...

I'm starting to think the lore of the dreaded Nissan/Infiniti CVT woes are a bit exaggerated

Hasn't Nissan improved the CVT since then?

I'm starting to think the lore of the dreaded Nissan/Infiniti CVT woes are a bit exaggerated

Wished I would have qualified this topic in the context of purchasing a new Nissan. Of course a used, poorly maintained vehicle is going to be risky for most brands.

I'm starting to think the lore of the dreaded Nissan/Infiniti CVT woes are a bit exaggerated

I've made it a point to ask Nissan and Infiniti owners if they experienced any transmission problems. None replied affirmatvely. As a matter of fact many have brand loyalty. I'm not suggesting if you buy a Nissan product there's no chance, you'll experience CVT problems, but it's far from a...

    3 cylinder cars

Can't yet wrap my head around it. Subcompact Chevys, e.g. Trax & Trailblazers, Ford Escape, Nissan Rogue? What's the logic ... I'm not seeing stellar mpg from these subcompacts and compact SUV's?

    Discontinued: Chevy Malibu

Except you can get a 2024 Malibu LS for less than a 2024 Corolla (approx $22k) and the base 2025 Camary will be $30k. Apples & Oranges

    2023 Jetta?

Just was about to create a thread entitled "Do you think the 2024 Jetta SE is a good value?" Seems to check all the boxes.

Is there such a thing as an unreliable U.S. new car today?

I guess there's outliers in every poorly rated brand. Conversely, I personally never knew anyone with a newer low mileage Honda or Toyota that was problematic.

Is there such a thing as an unreliable U.S. new car today?

As mentioned in my original post. Our Jeep Compass which made everyone's list of a vehicle not to own performed flawlessly for >100 k miles now. Same personnel drove the fleet of 4X4 domestic pickup trucks in the same terrain and had significantly more problems. I don't know what to think.

Rental Car review 22 Jeep Compass

Mentioned in another thread we had a 4x4 Compass as a company vehicle. It proofed to be at least as reliable as the other domestic vehicles we had. >100k miles without any failures ... just regular maintenance. I expected pure junk, but it served us well.

Traded in the Sonata for a Malibu. Dealership issue.

How's the visibility in the new Malibu? Do the real parking sensors perform as advertised?

    Well that's disheartening.

Is there such a thing as an unreliable U.S. new car today?

I suspect even a newer Nissan CVT would last if maintained and gently used.
