Ruger LCP II vs. LCP max in 380

I’ve heard of issues with the G42 with others, but to me personally it’s a fairy tale. I’ve not had a single malfunction with mine. I personally shoot it better than 80% of my guns, it’s on my cold-dead-hands list. However.,The LCP Max I bought has never made it through a full magazine. At...

Remember when the 'smart gun' was a thing?

Wow, sounded like a great idea at first until liberal politicians (NJ) caught wind of it and decided to turn a good idea into a tyrannical law. Can you imagine how far they’d go? ONLY those guns are legal…then you can ONLY buy them with a special license…but suddenly ONLY police/military can...

    Your smoothest oil

QSUD was always the quietest for me. Unfortunately I'm a deal whore so I only buy it when I need it which is rarely.

New Havoline or probably just a new label...

That's why they give you that extra quart! :'D I do not like their wording. "Lifelong" is more misleading to people than I'd care to admit and wouldn't want my company misleading sheeple. They've got a newfound cockiness on the back too.

Adding oil instead of changing it

When in doubt, dump it out. I replaced it all with Havoline HM "synthetic technology" oil (What the hell is that?). Then I was feeling good so I detailed my RX. I only wish it wasn't 90 degrees today. By the way, I think that vehicle wins the award for the stupidest oil filter location. Does...

Adding oil instead of changing it

Thanks for the replies everyone. I changed it at 199k with Havoline DS synthetic. I've been doing between 3/4 and a full quart every 2k, so at 201k, 203k, and here we are. Filter is a Bosch D+ that has been on since 195k. It definitely leaks as it's a "hot oil hitting the manifold" smell. I've...

Adding oil instead of changing it

My RX300 @ 205k uses about a quart every 2k, and I'm at "that point" (low line) to fill it back up. But since I top off twice over the course of an oil change with QSUD (usually), Most of the oil is only a couple thousand miles old. So when I go to change the filter tomorrow, do you think this...

    Supertech Synthetic vs QSUD

Now that these two oils are majorly discounted at Wal-Mart (at least in my area), which is the better value? Right now for 5 QT jugs, the Supertech Syn is $14.28 and the QSUD is $17.97. Is there much of a difference between these oils these days? How about the SuperTech HM Syn?

    Sometimes I love insurance claims

Today I got some wonderful news. So my Solara was my pizza delivery car for the last 3 years, and I had really taken it through the ringer. The big kablam was the front bumper having been damaged on a retaining wall, where it eventually began dragging and I had to rip it off. At the time I got...

Scored a 2012 Camry SE for $8,200. 56,000 miles, a little damage above the wheel well from a parking pole. Some paint transfer but nothing a little paint and pops-a-dent can't fix. I'm ecstatic. It drives wonderfully and the inside of the oil filler hole is practically shiny new. No wear in...
