Vehicles with the Coldest A/C Systems?

OMG. I was going to type the same thing. 1989 Jetta Wolfsburg edition (made in Germany). Hands down #1 ac of all time. Like twice the size needed. You could hang meat in there. - 2017 Tacoma is very good - 2015 Prius C is meh - two previous Mopars were crap

    2024 Toyota Tundra 3.4LTT

Slight drift. I saw one (Ltd Edition equipped with pretty much everything I think to include a $800 spray in bed liner over the composite bed liner 🤨. Oh and like $55 for a phone charger cord). Anyway it was $91k 😳😳😳. Might as well be a $200k Tacayne S-turbo since I’ll never be able to...

    Best windshield wipers?

OEM: No matter how many times I try, even the top of the line NAPA ones that cost nearly the same; they never seem to work as good or last as long as OEM (I'm talking Toyota, VW, BMW; no experience with any others in decades)

    Safety glasses.

100% saved me many times... I shudder to think how lucky I was all the times I did not wear them when I should have been. Now it's ; any time I am using power equipment, yard or shop work. The Army has a lot of BS, but they are pretty hard on eye pro now and I totally support that. Find...

    Farmers markets

Growing up in South Jersey; we went there all the time and were great as I remember. I also recall buying fresh corn for like $1/dozen. Here about 30 minutes north of Northern Virginia, there are 2 of them... 1 is pretty weak, small and seems like half their stuff just came from the same...

Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

2008 Star (Yamaha) Roadliner (a/c 900cc V-twin): Amsoil 20w-50 V-twin full synth ($17/qt) OEM Yamaha filter (Not that I’m a big fan of Amsoil, but I wanted the convenience of the dealer 5 miles from my house and the only other full synth 20w-50 choice was $21/qt Maxima)

Inflation of common items since 2021

shrubs, plants, trees and such at the garden store, Holy cow . Probably was 2019 ish since I last tried to buy some nice stuff... I don't have exact 2019 vs 2024 #s, but 100% they were not like this: Example, purchased this weekend 24" Japanese Maple (Smallest size they sell) 48"...

Ordered an item through Amazon, shipped direct from China...but with "free returns". How does that work?

I got kind of screwed by this during the logistics / supply chain shortage, was not 100% paying attention like I do now... Example (I did not have Prime at the time, this was part of a free shipping >$100 order (Multiple packages and delivery dates) - $20 novelty/graphic T- shirt - delivered...

Amazon delivered my order at 6:08 AM today

I think they are doing this to manage their capacity: processing facility, dock, trucks, drivers are "Booked/Planned" full 0900-2000 so they are taking advantage of their own assets and engaging them on the front end. (Like a factory adding a 3rd shift). Several examples recently reinforce...

Hard starting Honda push fixed with pre-mixed Sunoco 2 stroke?

It runs good once started? Like my ~$200 old school gas powered dangerous looking edger; maybes just best to hit it with a shot of starting fluid and drive on. Minimal effort, minimal risk, <$10 a season

Looking for a 24" bathroom vanity - why are the cheapest ones at HD better reviewed than mid-priced?

I believe they do scrub the reviews and favor their house brand. I e had more than one less than 5 star reviews disappear from National stores like HD or HF

It's over, 19 years of bogus orders

Maybe as simple as posting on your terms and conditions a ~20% restocking fee (Feel free to waive for all your normal customers, but not for this guy)

New way to interview? Have the final four applicants interview in front of each other, attend a social together, etc

We downsized via reorganization, by no coincidence he had all his retirement "Points"; his area was absorbed by another; there were no other jobs for him to move to and he was forced to retire... A FEW years earlier than he planned I think, but not the end of the world... Probably improved...

New way to interview? Have the final four applicants interview in front of each other, attend a social together, etc

(Pre-RONA): Colleague of mine was forced to retire... First actual face-to-face interview for an American Airlines Sales job was the same thing: 4 dudes side by side on folding chairs being interviewed by 2 company persons. He said it was weird and uncomfortable as hell and had no interest...

Tesla just laid off entire new vehicle team and supercharging team

Maybe there's another angle? Say Tesla sells all charging to Exxon for [x] billion? BIG $ oil would be wise to diversify so to speak, they could also do some smoke and mirror carbon credit BS if they also owned a S load of EV charging

    Rust in the gas tank.....

how much and how available is it simply to buy and install a new tank? Consider what is your time worth... MANY times, just because I spent too much time, effort and what turned out to be wasted $ when I should have just replaced.... What to invest in repair vs replace???? That's a tough call)

    6-month oil changes?

I’ve been doing every 6 months regardless of mileage for a few years now. Even when mileage is low I see it as a good practice to check everything over. (FWIW pre RONA and 2023 it was 9-10k miles every 6 mo. During RONA and now I’m working from home and avg only 3-4k/6 mo)

    Roof quote

FWIW; few different sheister company’s came thru my ~16 year old neighborhood in ‘22-‘23. Redid ~50/100 roofs. All had the same pitch; ~ “you need a new roof/gutters”. [how much?] “as much as we can get from your insurance company plus your deductible” I think we’re all gonna pay for this...

Wow! Pretty much the exact same scenario for me this past Oct. 100% agree, it was the best call even though new mortgage is higher than the old one, at least I’m worry free in terms of big ticket items
