My side mirrors look distorted, is there are fix for this?

Hey folks, I wanted to offer an update for those who are still even vaguely interested or curious.. I didn't bother posting the pics since the pics don't really show the effect---one would really need to see it in motion to understand the funhouse-mirror-lite effect going on here. In any case...

Mounting tires slightly out of spec, yay or nay?

Oh.. thanks for the clarification. If 1" outside of spec is risky, what about .5" ----- that should be OK right? (I hope so....)

Mounting tires slightly out of spec, yay or nay?

You're all basically saying the same thing: 1/2 to 1 inch is nothing, go for it! I will! LOL. Thanks. I'm good.

My side mirrors look distorted, is there are fix for this?

That's a good idea: I will take photos showing these distortions on the Honda Fit, and also photos of the Corolla mirrors where it looks absolutely natural, so the difference can be seen. I will have that ready soon, thank you so much everyone for chiming in!

My side mirrors look distorted, is there are fix for this?

That's really good to hear! That is what I will do (but I won't be looking at the Yellow pages.) Thanks. They're original, one can tell based on the fit/finish and matching color to the car (also I checked my neighbor's mirrors and they are JUST like that!) I seem to be only person with a...

My side mirrors look distorted, is there are fix for this?

I bought a new-to-me 2012 Honda Fit Base and the car's been all right but one of the most bothersome things about it are the side mirrors: they're distorted! So did I get a defective unit? Or was it replaced by an aftermarket unit by the previous owner? NOPE! This is how they are from the...

    Vehicle history reports

I have a guy I found on Craigslist who does that for me, I have been using him for the last 2 years and must have run some 40 Carfax reports. He pulls the CarFax from his iPHone and then takes screenshots of it, then mails it to me.

Do most repair shops report to CarFax?

Wow! This is news to me! This is very useful information as a DIY'er. It helps maintain the value of your car since as a DIY're you CERTAINLY take better care of your car than regular ppl.

Do most repair shops report to CarFax?

I am curious about how CarFax works especially in regards to service records. We know that CarFax records accidents that have been reported to them, my guess is that they have some co-operative relationship with various police agencies around the country. If you don't report a fender-bender, it...

Automatic Transmission clunking in Honda Fit, stay away or buy?

Thanks for chiming in: the Honda Fit (2nd gen.) appeals to me because it has those features that make it a great city car (I live in NYC.) It's relatively lightweight at 2600 lbs (rare nowadays,) the visibility is fantastic especially in the front but also in the side and even the rear is OK...

Automatic Transmission clunking in Honda Fit, stay away or buy?

I found a 2012 Honda Fit on Craigslist with 113,000 miles on odometer (actual mileage: 230,000+ odometer tampered with, CarFax calls this car a Branded Not Actual Mileage car.) You can feel the clunking the slight lurch (and kinda hear it too) in various acceleration actions (though not...

    When to Buy Tires?

I bought a set of Michelin Cross Climates for 80 bucks per tire (these tires are 135 at TireRack): The seller is discounting all his tires. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-195-65R15XL-Michelin-Cross-Climate-Plus-95V-tire/233493687528?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 I...

    Good experience with bamwholesaleparts.com

I bought a TRD rear sway bar (anti-sway bar) for my 2007 Corolla after much thought and deliberation from Bamwholesaleparts.com. I just wasn't sure if a thicker RSB (rear sway bar) would make a difference for a car with a torsion beam rear suspension. It already comes with a RSB from the...

Does perfect tire wear mean there aren't alignment issues?

We know that improper tire wear can indicate alignment issues but does perfect or good tire wear indicate that there are NOT alignment issues? Is the reverse (or converse, or inverse) true? That's the question. I don't know the answer. My guess is that it probably depends?
