    Engine machine shop oil recommendations??

A few of us racers are building Porsche 944 engines this winter and have had some minor machine work done to the crankshafts...The shop that did the work said that they do not want us to use synthetics because they foam and that the best oil is Pennzoil Racing 25w50. Now I have been using both...

    Corvettes Rule!

Porsche has indeed had a few engineering issues but many of these would only show up in cars that weren't maintained properly. Once you get behind on upkeep it can be problematic but in general the 911 engine is almost completely bulletproff. No other car maker has as many racing victories and...

    Corvettes Rule!

Yessiree...sure is great to see the Porsche/Corvette duel continue to this day...I remember when the 1970's 911S had a 2.4 litre engine and the Vette had a 327 or a 454 CI. Guess which one won the drag race back then...Guess which one is still probably running on the original drivetrain! Sure...

operating a DSG/DCT dual clutch transmission

I absolutely love my Audi A3 3.2 litre with DSG...single best car I've ever owned and one of the most fun and rewarding cars to drive as well. I have about 30,000 miles on it and need to get the tranny fluid changed soon.

    Corvettes Rule!

If you really examine the Corvettes that race in the American Lemans Series you will see that they are really not Corvettes at all...they are semi-tube framed purpose built cars manufactured by Pratt&Miller. Porsche runs a production based car with many of the same components that you'll see on...

    Corvettes Rule!

The Chevy may perform well for a year or so...see what happens after it has a few miles on it...The Porsche will drive and feel tight as new even after 10 years. And there is much more to a cars overall performance capabilities than a Car and Driver test will ever show.

    Audi rear diff

This car is a DSG with Quattro. I am looking specifically for the rear diff fluid at this time. I hear the DSG trans is quite a pain to change the fluid in and actually requires a VAG COM to do it properly.

    Audi rear diff

Wondering what is recommended for the rear diff on a 2007 Audi A3 Quattro. GL4 or GL5 or does it matter? The Audi part number makes no reference and it's $22/liter. I'd thought about using Redline 75w90 or Amsoil MTF.

    Valvoline Racing Synthetic 10w-30

That does not seem to be the same as the specs that Valvoline qoutes on the oil...Interesting, i'd say that it looks pretty weak for a dedicated racing oil....
