    2005 Lotus Elise M1 0w-40 ~3k

Lead is not good. I think this engine has a bearing issue.

    Mobil 1 FS 0w40, RAM 1500 5.7L HEMI 6000 mi, high FE

I don't think the thicker visc would be a concern... I run E85 so I expect it to shear down a bit. The Scatpacks and hellcats spec 0w40, and they have identical lower end clearances.

    Mobil 1 FS 0w40, RAM 1500 5.7L HEMI 6000 mi, high FE

Just a little update. Decided to pull a couple spark plugs and borescope it... cylinder walls looked great, original crosshatch present.... what I did see was evidence of valve seal seepage with gummy deposits on the edge of the piston and top of the cyl.... I'd wager it's very possible for some...

    Mobil 1 FS 0w40, RAM 1500 5.7L HEMI 6000 mi, high FE

I'll send it out soon and post on this thread. Going to do a 3K mile run on the valvoline, if iron drops significantly, we likely know there is not a major engine issue going on. I'll then do another run of M1 0w40 and see how it looks. I do think the cleaning theory is correct here.

    Mobil 1 FS 0w40, RAM 1500 5.7L HEMI 6000 mi, high FE

Filter is already gone sadly .... wish I would have kept it or thought of it... 🙃 stress kills the brain. I guess cleaning old deposits is possible, I replaced the valve cover gaskets 50k miles ago and there was almost no varnish. Who's to say around the pistons though. Surprisingly, the...

    Mobil 1 FS 0w40, RAM 1500 5.7L HEMI 6000 mi, high FE

It could have just been a particle streak or something. Who knows. I'm not worried about it unless the coming interval also shows increased FE.

M1 FS Euro 0w40 now API SP, Pour point raised per latest PDS

New M1 0w40 Euro PDS shows it meeting API SP and the pour point was raised from -67 to -42......... Really hope they didn't cut the zinc/calcium much but that seems likely given the SP cert... Also makes me wonder if this is something upcoming related to stallantis since this oil was basically...

What's the word on Valvoline advanced 5w30

Run it with confidence. It has 940ppm of zinc and ~300 of moly, one of the better add packs off from off the shelf oil..

Valvoline Advanced full synthetic 5w30, Tuned on E85 5.7L HEMI, 6000 mile OCI, 130k on engine

haha.... my shop is there but I spend most of my time outside of that area if at all possible..

Valvoline Advanced full synthetic 5w30, Tuned on E85 5.7L HEMI, 6000 mile OCI, 130k on engine

Tuned and running around a 4.6 sec 0-60 time. E85 used as the only fuel for the run.. Run HARD… it sees 6000 rpm every day.. Little disappointed it sheared to a 5w20 but probably to be expected on e85. Add pack looks great on this valvoline!
