Looking for a particular 12v switch

+1 a DPDT On/Off/On toggle switch will be least costly off the shelf part. Get the one with rubber sealed lever. For the complexity of getting the switch then figuring out the wiring why not just get an On/Off switch drill a hole in the dash and wire it as auxiliary light? The offroad SxS...

    Cat Walking

Walk the dog every day down to the mailbox and the cat walks along with us unleashed. A previous cat also would follow along on walks and would also play fetch with a paper ball for an hour at a time. Cats are smarter than the aloof stereotype they have been given. They can be trained but you...

Combating Shutdown Heatsoak- I finally did something about it

If it is that much an issue I would remove some of the hood seal near the windshield. All the heat really needs is a small crack and will readily convect up out cooling very quickly. The wifes old G8 I removed the plastic fake scoop covers and it cooled down significantly faster. The old 73...

    taller than stock tires

Online you can find specific tires revs per mile. look up stock tires, Look up new tires and divide the numbers to find the % difference. Apply that % to speed or rpm to find how much change. I put oversize tires on everything and usually the difference amounts to a few hundred rpm or a couple...

    Old Compact Spares

You're looking for a solution to a problem that you don't have. That tire only needs to get you to the closest service area. The money would be better spent on a roadside plug kit and an tiny compressor. I have a Stop n Go kit and a compressor in every vehicle. If you get a flat pull over...

Adding a turbo to a na engine

Call them and ask them about the fueling, that is critical. That kit does 5-8 psi should give a good torque boost if the fuel is increased in proper ratio to the increase in air supplied. Too lean and there will be too much heat. Get fueling right and longevity wont be affected.

Which is the better purchase? Silverado 1500 or 2500

That 6 liter pushrod motor will get a lot worse mpg. however the 1500 has direct injection so make sure you run some PEA each oil change. clogged injectors cost some money. I have a 17 6.2l LTZ and the trans while annoying to some is still functional and durable for a working truck. I easily get...

    Inadequate tires from the factory

Wheel hop from TC? I cant beleive that is the case on that beast but if true then it is junk engineering. the wifes CTS-V has many TC modes from rain to track and drag launch control. All are smooth as silk. Anyone that turns TC/SC off on a car like that for daily driving is a fool. On a normal...

    Inadequate tires from the factory

few weeks a go on a 3 lane surface street a hellcat coming toward me making a left began the turn and the rear came around. he stayed on throttle and looped it then continued down the sidestreet he was aiming for. Any less a driver may have had more trouble. we were about a hundred feet from...

Chevy trans shudder issue - best fluid?

^ +1 ...I have a 17 Silverado that had this issue and flush fixed . Unlike older gm trans torque converter clutches that would lock up after initial acceleration the newer GM TCC is almost constantly slipping. Moderate change in the fluid and the TCC slipping gets choppy as the system struggles...

Relay w/ recess pins how to test

Thats what I would do. A few crimp on spade terminals and bits of wire. If you use that type relay a lot find the mating plug and make an adapter

    55 Chain Lubes Tested

Next time you get a new chain and sprockets installed rotate the rear wheel and look very closely. As a roller approaches the sprocket the teeth do NOT touch the roller. the rollers MESH (Drop) into the sprockets like straight cut gears dont scrape across each other as they mesh. If there were...

Honda CBX 1000-oil choice Mild ambient temps/high engine temps

Engines from that era were tuned usually very lean which also means they also ran very hot. A lot of that heat can be reduced tuning it to make more power (Rich). I would immediately get a jet kit in it. I have used Dynojet kits and they always made improvement across the board as DJ does the...

    55 Chain Lubes Tested

As far as the external rollers there is no rotational friction there. The rollers are shiny because they are getting burnished by a powerful motor jack hammering pulses into a few square inches total of roller/sprocket interface. We are talking thousands of PPSI going through these components.

    55 Chain Lubes Tested

I don't think you read what was said. The X/O seals made out of whatever miracle material are still subject to wear. So dust and grit can tear them up just like fork seals engine seals etc. And once the seals get worn they will leak (Only takes one) and you have hundreds of them on one chain...
