Rv , how often do you repack the bearing on your travel trailer ?

Millions of miles of boat trailers up and down the NJ highways, would disagree. Heck, they make caps with springs on them to keep grease under pressure, up against the bearings. I made my own "EZ lube" system and we pack the grease completely, from inside to out, jammed packed full of grease on...

Regarding 1st oil change on new vehicle...

That would be nice, but with 11 vehicles, 3 trailers, boat, bobcat, etc... (and the corresponding 100 different message boards I already try to follow), hard to keep up with what filters are good or not on any given day. For better or worse, I use manufacturer stuff pretty much exclusively...

Regarding 1st oil change on new vehicle...

Has Fram come back that far from "the dead"? It was supposedly "the worst" back in the day. That said, I try to stick with factory filters until warantee is up. One less thing for dealer to try and point at, if/when major warantee needed.

Ford cuts prices of F-150 Lightening by 7-16%.

I don't think anyone has added in the transfer of now being your own "power company". ANYTHING that goes wrong with your personal "power generation plant", is now your problem to deal with. Even if it is just setting up warantee work for free on components. Still have to deal with it.

Ford cuts prices of F-150 Lightening by 7-16%.

It won't be to 100%. 5-10 minutes to 100% charge is my standard. The EV world can either go do it, or have a bunch of us that aren't ready for them yet. In fact your "not supposed" to charge to 100% every day, correct? (battery life and all). So the "full tank", "every day" seems kind of a...

Ford cuts prices of F-150 Lightening by 7-16%.

Easy to win market share when the gov't ever tightening emission std's are virtually unattainable. "This Is Not a Gas-Engine Ban", OK, but when 67% of the market HAS to be EV by X date, it's defacto. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a43546970/new-strict-epa-mpg-rules-for-2027-2032-vehicles/...

Ford cuts prices of F-150 Lightening by 7-16%.

I'll add one thing that ICE gets you that EV's don't on long trips. I might stop for gas the same amount of times an EV stops (I don't, but lets say I did). So I stop for 5 minutes at any gas station, and then stop wherever I find an intriguing spot along the way for possibly a longer spout. The...

Receiver pin was missing when I got home - only the clamp held the ball mount

I always use a locking pin, for theft deterrence and never liked pins that only use some kind of clip to keep them in. I've never been able to get a pin out with a trailer on, always "some" force on the pin.

Finding new tires that are not out of round - mission impossible?

Looks like it uses cameras in the hood, to measure rim runout with the tire on (Pg 27), https://smonta.ru/upload/iblock/781/7817d822c8ac55d4ea5d8b3b33f7ee1b.pdf but I wonder if that is really as good as measuring bare rim runout, where you're actually measuring the spot where bead sits...

    Goodyear's reputation

Glad they got it together. I blew multiple new Marathon GY radials on a trip to Tenn and back. One of them the entire tread came off like a re-tread, was still holding air. That was a while ago, but when a product was that horrible, it does taint you.

Why are there so many AWD cars now?

Ford's FWD based AWD does not work on demand/detected wheel spin (at least in 2017, of which I have a Fusion Sport and 2.0 Eco AWD Escape), it applies power to the rear as soon as load is deemed enough (upwards of 50% to rear, if engine load is high enough from a dead stop). It works fantastic...

    Automotive batteries in 2023

Trickle chargers can make any little used battery last 7 through even 15 years. The orig batt's in my 05 dodge diesel are in my 79 bronco (that even plows my neighborhood). Still working. Have plenty of batts 7 or more years still good.

No pickup trucks in the UK

A lot of the one's that claim they don't need one are "right", because they are always asking to borrow mine. :)

CRC intake valve & turbo cleaner on 2017 Ford Escape 2.0 Ecoboost

I'd also be concerned about doing it after 150K miles. Are the "chunks" that might come off large enough to hurt anything inside the cyl (or edges of valves) at that point (and for that matter, will sprays even remove that much gunk). Almost think it is something you should either do quite often...

Anti-Roll Bar P Clamp broken cant get replacement.

I was going to suggest this, but weld the (extra) bolted end. Even easier here if you have the clearnce for the other bolt.

    Can tires flat spot overnight?

Hi all New here (didn't see an introduction forum section, or would have posted up there). Stumbled on here looking up about Hunter Road Force balancers. Anyway, I definitely have had flat spots. For my rides, it seems to be highly dependent on tire sidewall height and if a performance tire...
