Flight documents show MH370 was ‘buried in an ocean trench by pilot’, says Boeing expert

When will the day come when transponders can never be turned off and CVR's can hold months of audio?

Quality aftermarket toner for Brother color laser printer

Just wondering if there are any high quality compatible options for my Brother color laser printer. For the record, I don't mind paying for genuine Brother toners, that's what I have always used, but for some high workload projects where the best quality isn't a priority, I may try some...

Formula 1 starting already this weekend?

I want to say they have some tricks in the power dept also. Max runs away from the start, always wins the drag race to the first turn. Does RB also have the downforce aspect dominated? The RB cars just do better in turns and comes with speed...so it appears they are just sucked harder to the...

Need torque spec for the four front crossmember bolts of a 2012 Yukon

That was the part I found interesting, the additional 110 deg. However they don't seem to be TTY so that's nice.

Need torque spec for the four front crossmember bolts of a 2012 Yukon

Pretty sure all GMT900's are the same, but I have a slight creak a few months after I changed my front diff, had to remove crossmember and I thought I had it tight I have new diff mounts, those are torqued, but 2 of my crossmember bolts could have been tighter IMO...maybe that is the issue...

More diesels than EV sold in Europe in January 2024

Also, when you factor in the price of a new battery, you could buy a nice used car. For me, there is ZERO incentive for an EV, maybe because I like to keep more $$ and see more of a return on my $$ over the years. Safe bet many others do also.

Sudden Gas Price Increase in Central Pa

Do all the gas price increases seem to fall in line with the recent delay for tailpipe emissions standards to take effect? Meaning, people are going to likely purchase FFV's over EV's.

    Chevrolet rant

Does "severe" fall under the stop and go city driving, short trips, etc? Not necessarily hauling heavy loads. @rainman49 I would absolutely let the dealer service the trans much sooner than later. Get everything documented now, who you talk to, what they say, time of call etc. Heck, if you...

    Is Dexos 2 safe in a 2012 Denali 6.2

You are correct, I misspoke. I had it in my head back in the day that the Gen 4 LS 6.2 is a variant of the LS3. May or may not, but proper term is Gen 4 LS.

    Is Dexos 2 safe in a 2012 Denali 6.2

Curious if a 5w-30 Euro Dex 2 is safe to use in a Dex 1 LS3 6.2 with AFM, motor has 130K Was thinking on the Penzoil Euro L 5W-30. Nothing wrong with engine, just toying with options. Motor loves Redline, but curious to other slightly "heavier" oils with higher HTHS. (edited)

My VW sacrificed itself to save me/daughter yesterday

So glad to hear everyone will be ok, wow....having new drivers myself...that has to be tough to get out of your system. Hope for a speedy recovery.

    Favorite Movie Cars Thread.

This guy did an incredible job at recreating the "Wraith" Dodge PPV pace car. One of my favorite movie cars growing up. I wish the exhaust was a bit more muffled.

    2WD ATV snow tires

I found a pair of Wanda P308's that mimic the "Wooly Booger" tread style. We had about 4" to mess around in and they performed very well, much higher than my expectations.

Can I use a cable lug crimper for air compressor fittings?

Meant to say the application is for a 5/8" OD air compressor hose with a barbed fitting. Safe bet the hose crimper gets the meat of the hose down in the valleys of the barbed fitting. My thinking is if a hose clamps works, then maybe a brass ferrule with a hex crimp might also?

    Electric pressure washer decision

Thx, and yeah, I was going to get the Ryobi over the Sunjoe or even the Portland from HF, for the price it makes sense, next in line was the Karcher 1700. I opted for more flow for the undercarriage sprayer and it is roughly .5gal/min more flow. The price difference gave me pause for sure with...

1990 Buick tail lights stay on

Yeah, I want to think that as well. Hoping it's the brake lights with a burned out 3rd light giving the illusion it's the tail lights. Otherwise it could be a deep dive.

18-wheeler had its trailer lights off on the highway at night

Old thread, but the trailer uses a 7-pin connector for the lights from the tractor. The tractor could have it's lights working and the trailer could have a bad pin or pin socket in the light cord. Brake lights, turn signals and running lights all have seperate pins. Might be fine when hooked...

1990 Buick tail lights stay on

That's what I'm thinking as well...if the 3rd brake light is out, it would give the indication of taillights albeit bright.

    Fluke meter recommendations

Late reply but I bought an 89-IV close to 20 years ago. Still works like new, and I use the logging function alot. You can graph 24hr events and makes it helpful for troubleshooting. I believe the 289 is the current successor, pricey but these meters are worth their price.
