What car or cars would you like to see made again

Dodge Magnum, preferably a V-8 with a manual transmission. I don’t understand the disregard for wagons in the US. Love my Magnum. Would also love a Volkswagen GTI version wagon with a manual.

    Klotz 20w/40 american vtwin oil

Klotz oils are red and smell good. It’s part of their gimmick. I was told by a dealer here in the Northeast that Klotz motorcycle oil is very good.

My Random Thoughts on Keeping a Car Running for a while

Here in RI, they dump two inches of salt on an inch of snow. It is ridiculous.

Need a new heating oil tank- single vs double wall?

Not sure if Granby is the brand. The oil company told me they had a 10 year warranty and changed it to 3 years about 3-4 years ago. Is Granby a good brand?

Need a new heating oil tank- single vs double wall?

So far, no more drips. If this tank is from 1977 as I suspect, I’ll sleep better knowing it’s replaced with a new one. We plan on being here for a while. Thanks to everyone for the advice. Sounds like the single wall tank will be fine for a basement install.

Need a new heating oil tank- single vs double wall?

Thanks, the short warranty had me worried. It is inside the basement. I guess I’ll go with the single wall.

Need a new heating oil tank- single vs double wall?

Yes, I suspect that there is some hazmat fee included in the quotes. My oil company told me that they have to have a third party company do the work. Has to be a “state licensed” contractor.

Need a new heating oil tank- single vs double wall?

It’s a tight fit to get the old tank out and new tank in. Not sure a double wall will fit. This is the original tank to the house, built in 1977. So this one lasted a very long time. The 3 year warranty on the new tank seems pretty weak. Estimates up here in RI were all around $4K for taking...

Need a new heating oil tank- single vs double wall?

I do not have access to natural gas on my street, unfortunately. We will be in this house for a decade or more. Heat pump is a good option, but would require supplemental heat on the coldest days. At this point, the boiler is good, and I replaced the pumps a few years ago, so I want to get the...

Need a new heating oil tank- single vs double wall?

My 275 gallon heating oil tank started leaking on the floor. Just a few drops here and there. Tech came over and attached a magnetic “patch” and no drips since then. Oil company wants around $4K for R&R with new tank. 3 year warranty. Double wall tank is $500 more and has 30 year warranty...

Do people still use home stereo systems?

I still have a set of Realistic Mach1 speakers with 15” woofers and liquid cooled tweeters. Run them with a 100 watt amp and mostly use CDs as a source. I had to reform the woofers, all original other than that. Yes, we mostly use headphones, but when I’m alone I can crank up the tunes and...

    “Arctic Pipeline” bringing cold weather

I’m still protesting the switch from “relative humidity” to “Dew Point”. I realize they are two different measurements, but they do measure the same thing. I have no scale for dew point, I grew up with relative humidity. Now, I have to go outside to see if it’s humid or not… Somewhat...

    Treating deck boards

Linseed oil, raw if you can get it. Boiled linseed oil has a drying agent in it. Raw does not me will penetrate better. Obviously it will also take longer to dry.

2006 Dodge Magnum R/T 2008 Miata Both with updated head units, hands free cell phone. Both have knobs for hvac, and steering wheel controls for radio volume, source, etc. both have heated seats. Love them both.
