My mechanic that I use was unavailable initially, so I called the local Nissan dealer to get a quote.

First person: well, don't you realize we need to evacuate your refrigerant to install the blower motor

Me: thanks, transfer me to someone else immediately .

I was curious so watched a vid. Looks like it's just under the IC in center of the dash? Come in from the top? Kinda cool.

I don't think I've even brushed up against a Quest in a parking lot, so I had to look it up

No, they Ziebart it so the ashes don't stick. Must be reapplied annually.

Unfortunately most service writers see “does not include evac/recharge” in the labor op in all data or pro demand and well shoot I need to add evac/charge time to the estimate

If the entire evaporator "box" needs to be removed to replace the fan you will have to evacuate the AC.

Took my MIL's Wrangler for some much-needed and deferred maintenance at a Take 5 quick lube place in Ocala (visiting for the holidays, my gift to her) and they had a small container of "synthetic blinker fluid" on display inside the work bay area.

Wonder how many people ask about it, must be a gag of course.

A girl I know got charged for a power steering fluid flush on her Hyundai Kona.

I guess maybe since the electric power steering assist motor uses an electric "current", that translates to it being a "fluid" somehow? I wonder how the old fluid looked.
