Any market interest in a 5qt jug hose? My prototype

I use a screw in funnel from Temu (no chance of spills) and a 5 litre (5.28qts) graduated jug from a farm supply store to measure my oil volume prior to filling the engine. When pouring from oil bottle to jug, I turn the bottle to the side (just like my grandma taught me) to prevent glugs. I...

post your latest transmission lubricant change.

Toyota U760E with 150K miles. Out: Castrol Transmax Multi-vehicle ATF In: Valvoline Max Life I dropped the pan, cleaned the magnets, changed the filter and used the cooler line flush process to change (nearly) all the fluid.

What would you do to clean this engine?

I'd change the oil with any brand name oil that's currently on sale and add a cup of engine oil flush before running the engine at idle for about 20 minutes. Then, I'd perform another oil change with your oil of choice. (I like Valvoline Synpower 5w40 (YMMV)). Anyhow, I did this just the other...

GM 4L60E Transmission: Lucas Transmission Fix or LubeGard Red ?

I apologize about recommending a Zip Kit that's not available. I just had a quick look at Sonnax's website and assumed they did one for your application. It's a pity that they don't, because my Zip Kit was very easy to install and it gave new life to my 150 000 mile Toyota transmission.

2018 Nissan Navara (NP 300) ATF spec?

That wasn't the question you asked. Anyhow, this is from Nissan: Engine Oil Grade API CF-4 (NEVER USE API CG-4) ACEA B1, B3, B4, B5 Viscosity SAE 5W-30 is Preferable If 5W-30 is not available, select viscosity based on anticipated outside temperature range.

GM 4L60E Transmission: Lucas Transmission Fix or LubeGard Red ?

If it's slipping, you'd be better off installing a Sonnax Zip Kit and then replacing the fluid.

    Filter choices; what to use?

I use OEMassive filters. I get them by the carton from AliExpress.

    Composite Oil Pans

Just a few days ago I changed the engine mounts on my Toyota using a pair of chassis stands and a floor jack. This task would have been impossible if my vehicle had a composite oil pan.

Switch out green for yellow coolant ?

No, it's a great idea. Every vehicle I own is running yellow long-life coolant. I use Nulon 10 year/ 1,000,000km coolant because I'm too lazy to do the job twice.

    DIESEL OWNERS WINTER FUEL

I use two stroke lawn mower oil in my diesel at a ratio of 200:1. The vehicle's now 18 years old and it's never had a pump or injector service.

Toyota spin on oil filter conversion

That's normal for the 2AR-FE plastic filter housing. I lightly oil the new o-ring and the thread on the housing and install the filter by hand. Once it stops turning by hand I use the filter cup to tighten the housing about 1/32 of a turn (maybe less) and I've never had it come loose in over 12...

Is high end oil filter necessary for high performing cars or cars that don't get drive often ?

What a "high end" filter? My Toyota (2AR-FE) uses a cartridge style filter with a plastic housing, so it's very easy to compare the filter media across brands. I've compared a $36 Ryco filter cartridge with a $3 OEMassive cartridge and a $7 Cooper cartridge. Based on my observations, there's no...

The brand on them is NLZ. I don't have a link because I purchased them several years ago off eBay.

    SAE vs Metric

I've got sockets and wrenches (aka spanners where I'm from) that fit both metric, standard and other fasteners. The heads look like this: They're useful for all of these fastener head shapes:

    Attic Fan?

I put two of these electric fans on my roof and instaled some inlet vents around the eaves. They flow 46,000 cu/ft per hour each. So, they can change the air in the roof space in only a few minutes. They have lowered the summer living space temps from over 100 degF to a pleasant 75degF.

Pirelli P7 Plus 3 A/S for SE Michigan. (225/45R17). Good choice or better options

I'd get Continental UC7's and ensure they were always inflated to the correct pressure. However, I my be biased because I only ever buy Conti tires.
