    Recommend a Used Pickup Truck

Wife and I buying a project house. We'll either turn it into our new place, or flip it, but it's going to be a fun year ahead. Probably going to add a truck to help in the effort. A midsize with decent bed is the starting point but fairly open to ideas, suggestions, and recommendations. Not...

    Time for new tires

Beautiful new Nokians! The "Ones" are on my shortlist to replace the Entyres currently on the Jetta. Would love an update on them as you break them in.

    2012 Ford Fusion 2.5L vs 2008 Buick 3800?

My friend has a Fusion right around that year, one of the last before the redesign. He drives it for Uber and it has been rock solid. Oil and tires, nothing else I am aware of out of the ordinary.

What are the worst tires you've used?

The OEMs on a Kia Rio...I think Kumho TA11s or something. Ugh. Should have got them off the car sooner than I did.

Scuff on outer tire is it usable?

Don't mess around. Not worth it for you or ANYONE ELSE on the road!

Help me choose: Nokian WRG4 vs Outpost APT

Have had every iteration of the WRG series and highly recommend in general. If you're doing a bunch of off roading though, might not go with it. It is a softer tire. Great for roads and fine around most of New England otherwise.

I need a long lasting fuel efficient vehicle (not a hybrid, electric, or PHEV)

2017 VW Jetta SEL was a surprise for me. Pulled down 50 mpg on a ride from Rochester to Boston last year. Had some luck downhills and a bit of drafting, but always getting 40+ regardless on the long rides. Plus comfy and punchy when you need it.

    Semi budget tires 215/70/16

Love the Nokian Entyre 2.0s I have on the VW Jetta. All season but have felt great in rain and light snow so far.

Anybody regularly pick the stones out of their tires?

If I happen to see or hear a big one and can get at it walking by the car, I'll pull it out - but certainly don't go looking for em!

    '17 Accent

Great little car. We had that and the sister Rio. Same engine, and I believe a Mitsubishi transmission. Rock solid across the board. If you get the hatchback (you should if you can) oodles of space and cargo nearly compact SUV levels. Highly recommend as a value buy and a great choice for a used...

    Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV

I test drove one last year for nearly an hour. I really, really liked it. Quick off the line, comfortable, and utilitarian. With the right rebates and situation for someone with the charging capacity/commute I would go for it.
