And soon VW will join the Tesla fold?

In reading the engineer reports, people in the know say that the Plug-in electric is a dead-end solution. Hybrids are still the better solution for the time being, but all the R & D is going into fuel cells. Toyota has had one in California for a few years, but the infrastructure isn' there for...

Q about Bialetti Coffee (Expresso?) Pot

That's how italians make they espressos on the stove-top. There are different sizes according to the nbr of cups (small) you want to make. Most are 2-4 cups. Still the best & most cost effective machine around.;)

Mazda CX-30 problem that Mazda ignores

Most parasitic draws are Radio related, make sure the radio IS switched off. If it still does it, then one ought to dig deeper.

    DWS06 + in the snow

I had them on my MB350 and they performed very well. On my current vehicle Lexus RX350 I ditched the OEM at ~12,000Km and replaced them Toyo Celcius. Not as good as the Contis, but pretty close. I truly believe that the all weathers give good service especially if not in zones of very heavy...

    Looking for PC Recommendations

In terms of built quality there is Apple and far behind the rest! But you pay for it. I would go on the Apple website and look at the refurbished section, I got my MacBook Air M1 there and saved $200. These refurbished units are done by Apple and carry the New Apple warranty and you could not...

    2013 Mercedes E350 Battery & Oil Change

Premium gas in a Lexus (Toyota)?

I don't think that Lexus requires premium gas, mine doesn't, but it comes with a warning, not to go below 76 octane. I was told years ago by a Lexus employee, that all tests were done on 91 octane. Now due to technology, the computer can compensate when a lower octane is used, but only so much...

When do you use your turn signals?

I use them all the time xcept in dedicated lanes where no other action can be taken. I'd also like to mention that even those who do use them, most are not doing so correctly. These signals are not meant to highlight your action, but to signal your intentions so that other motorist can take...

Supplier wants to change quote after order?

It's not a question of ethics, it was a non binding quote, what if the price of materials or labour or whatever had gone up? How much time has elapsed between your query and their quote. Your remedy is not to accept the revision and go elsewhere, you suffered no loss.

    2024 Mazda CX-90

But of course, MB had an inline 6 since I was a kid! I never said that Mazda was 1st with this, only that they think things through before implementing.

    2024 Mazda CX-90

I know that! I was only underlying that Mazda is solid engineering and that they don't change things just to follow the herd.

Why are there so many AWD cars now?

Agree entirely, same with the way they foist the "Turbo" on everything. The turbo is a great tool, but has its own quirks, yet no salesperson mentions them, nor how to drive & shut-off the engines that have them.

    2024 Mazda CX-90

The CX90 also has a IL6 without turbo. Mazda has always marched to a different drummer, good on them, their engineering is excellent had a little Truck of theirs (B2000 i think) on my farm that was abused, neglected and still ran like champ. They also never bought into the CV tranny and...

Why are there so many AWD cars now?

As driving skills decrease and cars are bought more for the number of cup-holders they have, the driver needs all the help she/he can get. Also with AWD the traction is greatly improved in all types of weather, all the rally cars in the last ~65 yrs are AWD.

    Toyota switching gears?

That's exactly the OPPOSITE of what I've read. Toyoda was asked to resign because he said that EV was a non starter and some people thought that politically that was a "Subsidy Killer" Sato ws put in charge to develop an EV prgram and now even HE says what Toyoda said! They both believe that...
