I've had good results with lubegard cvt additive in my wife's Kizashi cvt. Lubegard would be the only additive I would trust with a cvt.

A fiberglass filter is the equivalent of a counterfeit K&n oil filter made in someone's backyard in china. Or as known in the hvac trade a "rock catcher".

Merv 4 will just dust up your ducts, How about a Merv 8 and find the source of you filter buildup?
