HPL PCEO 5W-30/5W-40 mix, 2019 Kia Sorento V6, 4200 mi OCI, 80540 mi total

I have enough HPL left for one more OCI. Right now, I'm running Valvoline R&P because I want to see if I can get it to fully stop burning oil for the duration of the 3,750 mi OCI (it burns about 0.25-0.5 qt, which starts at about 3k-3,250 mi into the OCI). I'm on my second OCI using Valvoline...

HPL PCEO 5W-30/5W-40 mix, 2019 Kia Sorento V6, 4200 mi OCI, 80540 mi total

This run was a mix of 4qt 5W-40 + 2.9 qt 5W-30. It looks like I forgot to submit the total mileage on the engine in the report. The manual recommends a 3,750 mi interval for the severe maintenance schedule. This one went a bit longer since I went on a 1,600 mile round trip drive during it. I...

    New Valvoline Oil

Very cool! I wonder if the compounds they're using in this oil will find their way into other manufacturers.

    Mobil 1 ESP X4 0W-40

I found it interesting comparing the X3 and X4 webpages for the ESP 0W-40. The X3 page mentions: Whereas the X4 page: I'm curious what the ester content of the X4 is, we know that the X3 had esters. For reference, ESP 0W-30, ESP 5W-30, FS 0W-40.

    VOA - Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30

Does this date code mean it was made in July of 2022? If so, this looks like API SN. Someone correct me please.

    Move to M1 FS 0W40 ?

I would have been curious to compare the FS 0W-40 with the ESP X3 0W-40.

LSJr - Viscosity Breakdown: The Silent Engine Killer Revealed!

Thank you for the explanation. What is the reason behind you using a 20 grade for an engine that calls for a 30 grade? Fuel economy?

LSJr - Viscosity Breakdown: The Silent Engine Killer Revealed!

What I'm confused about, is why does the No VII Euro 5W20 have an HTHS of ~3.26, while the 10W20 have a lower HTHS of ~2.8?

    HPL 0W-20 or 5W-20 question

This is the PDS of the HPL No VII. I don't understand how the Euro 5W-20 has a HTHS of ~3.27 while the Euro 10W-20 has an HTHS of ~2.8. If we look at the PCMO 0W-20 vs 5W-20, we see their HTHS is almost the same.
