Manmade sounds that bring you joy.

For me it's a baitcaster. That ZINNNNGGgggg when you shoot a big heavy worm up about 8 or 10 inches off of the shore and that splash and then the bigger splash when something bassy strikes. Small arms fire deep in the woods. Just me popping off rounds 25 miles out in the middle of nowhere...

If you could change one thing on your daily driver what would it be?

2018 F150 - wish the 10r80 was as smooth as the 10r80 in a Silverado.

    Egg panic in my area.

Constantly mutates like all other flu. That's why they recommend a flu shot every year. They take the most popular strains and current mutations and make up a flu stew and pump you full of it hoping that it helps you fight off whatever strain/mutation you come into contact with.

    HST vs Ranger T

I say it all the time, I wouldn't want to take a .22 short to my sternum or ANYWHERE 3 inches off of it. Or in my guts, though my personal armor layer of blub might keep it from going deep enough to cause mucho de issus in me guts, but I ain't hankering to find out. Or my head, though I had...

    Are calculators still a thing?

Absolutely. I worked as middle management at a Fortune Top 10. We wrote people up for having their cell phones out AND we had to do math all the time. I bought 'em by the case because we had to provide them.

    Walmart Battery Core Charge

Old mower batteries etc are usable for core charges at WM. If you get the right person. I've done it several times on marine and vehicle batteries where I wanted to keep the old battery. I've also used 15 year old marine batteries as core charges for car batteries.

Why do you put your wipers up before it snows?

Some people change their oil every 4k, some every 5k, and some every 15k. They all believe it's the right way to do it. Heck, some folks believe their cars are sentient and communicate to them just how happy they are that Master uses a special blend of Motul, MMO, Castrol, and camel hump fat...

    Are your breakers labeled?

When I bought my house it was labeled. About 3 of them were right. Like mentioned above, mine isn't some pre color TV hovel, but built in 2000. I know it's original wiring, and it irritated the everloving snot out of me.

    Watch Recommendations

I have a Mido Ocean Star auto. I'm generally not an auto fan but this was a gift from the prettier half, and it is a really good looking watch - mine is black and stainless. I like blue/stainless better but this one has grown on me. I will say that for a Caliber 80, it only really holds about...

    Get rid of the penny?

I needed a penny yesterday. Badly. The reason: I needed a washer. Piece of sheetrock in my garage started sagging. I ran a couple of screws through it up into the stud but I like to use a washer on old sheetrock that's been exposed to damp (humid summers now for 24 summers) and I didn't have...

Do people still use home stereo systems?

When I needed to replace my early 90's Pioneer system I went component shopping. I let the Best Buy kid talk me into a soundbar (about 2010). Giving up the aesthetics of the Pioneer system with the big ol beautiful floor speakers was tough at first and I hated it. Now, I don't miss it at all...

Run that engine before moving the car

Summer, winter, rain sleet snow or zombie apocalypse I generally remote start mine as I'm walking up to it. It probably takes me 90-120 seconds to get in and put my seatbelt on. I take it easy on my 10r80 (at least most of the time) - they've got enough issues without me treating it like NASCAR

    Windshield washer antifreeze?

Amen. A big jug of the minus whatever stuff is 3-4 bucks, and you can mix a quart (here in the south) to top off the reservoir and that is more than enough to protect you on 6 cold nights (which here would be about 15-20f). Heck, it's only 6 bucks at a gas station or a grocery store if you...

The best selling car in America the year you graduated high school

I didn't see that, but I agree. I doubt they made more than a couple of thousand. I just did a google and there are multiple sources that I would have once considered reputable that are making that 1961 claim. I would bet that it was really the Impala. Chevy made like 6 different...
