New source for premium guard filters CHEAP

That’s always a gamble! I’m 99% positive these are premium guard. Unless another company has a plant ripping them off!

New source for premium guard filters CHEAP

I found these A-Premium filters on Amazon and they look, at least in the 7317 size filter, to be made by premium guard. Same baseplate as the Microguard and Carquest filters, although with a rubber gasket instead of silicone. The pics also show the same spiral center tube with lots of large...

What the heck Pablo. I’ve been gone for 5 years and you only doubled your post count compared to me? Ha ha. Glad you’re still around keeping it real!

    Yokohama Geolander CV4S review

I had both the Outpost ATP and the Encompass AW01 and while both were decent when new, it only took about 8/32 for the sipes to wear through and the tread block connectors to become exposed and they were useless in ice and snow! Hopefully the Yokes have full depth siping.

    Yokohama Geolander CV4S review

I thing the CV4s would be better on road in snow and ice. Much more siping. But the G015 is better off-road.

    Yokohama Geolander CV4S review

Oh, and they’re light weight in each size. That was the selling point for me. 225/65/17 weighs 27 lbs. something like a Wildpeak Trails are 31. Some of the other 3pmsf rated all weather tires in this size are 35 lbs!

    Yokohama Geolander CV4S review

I recently put a set of these on my CX-5. They’re a new tire that’s all weather rated and good for mild off road use but still decent on road. FANTASTIC tire. They ride smooth and soft, mileage hasn’t suffered, and the snow traction is incredible. They’re pretty quiet too. I’ve now had...

life was more fun when I was younger.

I just turned 45 so I barely grew up before social media and the tech craze. In sooooo many ways it’s ruined life for the younger generations. Comparison is the thief of joy looking at social media. I tell my GFs daughters this everyday and they don’t get it cause they’re mostly miserable. I...

    *Investors Blog*

Any Bitcoin gamblers here? I’ve been trading it using the short term holder cost basis. In when price is above and SHCB is rising. Out at all other times. Only trade a few times a year if that. Done pretty darn good for the last several years and avoided a lot of the pain.

    Inlet side thermostats

So I’ve been thinking the thermostat on my 2016 CX-5 is possibly starting to open too early/sticking open. I have OBDII data and when it’s very cold with the heater on, it’ll barely crack 180F. And when I coast down a hill, it’ll drop to 170. In the summer it stays around 190. The cooling...

    Drew99GT returns after lengthy absence

Hey fellas! And ladies! I’ve been gone from this forum for gosh…. 5 years?!? I used to spend so much time here and I missed it. Been researching oil filters. Premium Guard is the new goat. Oils have changed so much now. Anyhoo, glad to see all the long timers still around. I’m still...

    Oil Additives for GDI engines

Might there be a market for oil additives that can help reduce carbon on intake valves? Since its the oily vapors that get sucked through the PCV system that bake onto the valves, if one were to use an oil additive that had high cleaning ability, could that potentially clean and prevent intake...

    Mazda CX-5 front axles

Does anyone know whether the front axles are driven via the transmission or the transfer case on most of these modern transverse engine mounted AWD SUVs these days? I'm used to old school technology where it goes engine - transmission -transfer case - font axles! Thanks!

    Mazda - FW6A-EL

Hmmmm, I just bought a 2016 CX-5, and while the shifting is excellent, it does have a vibration at lower speeds when accelerating from lower rpms. Feels like a shudder. It only happens when the transmission upshifts very quickly. From a stop when going slow, it feels like it gets to 3rd gear...

    AWD systems and donut spare

I got my situation figured out! Mazda specifically used a 155/90 R18 on AWD CX-7s, and that tire is listed as a specific tire for the CX-5, but in the US we got the tiny donut instead. https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/index.php?threads/2017-spare-tire-mod-for-u-s.123861462/page-2 So I found a...
