Pronto PO4612 Oil Filter, is good quality.

Depends on the location and specific filter. I’ve seen some, like the PF66 alternative in STP on YT that’s PGI made. On BITOG, there seems to be a mix.

To double drain and fill or not?

I was thinking the same thing, thanks!

To double drain and fill or not?

Recently bought a ‘23 Chevrolet Blazer w/ 9T60. It’s coming up on 30k miles, where I intend on servicing the transmissions. No external filter, just a small internal one. So, I will be doing just a drain and fill. With being low miles, should I do a single drain and fill or a double. I will be...

Redline 5W-30 4k mi; Kia Forte Ex 2.0 115k mi

Manganese is a bit high, which is weird to me because I would expect to find manganese in high concentrations with break in oil. Someone else will more experience and knowledge would have to chime in for this one. Looks good to me otherwise, a nice big shot of calcium and moly. UOA doesn’t tell...

Pronto PO4612 Oil Filter, is good quality.

What a beautiful filter, thanks! Definitely a Premium Guard filter. For all those wondering where to purchase outside of eBay, these filters often come up on RockAuto under various manufacturer, I believe starting with PO, but normally have pictures.

Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

1 Gallon of ST 15w40 HDEO for my mower. It burns a little bit and I don’t feel like running the expensive Rotella T6 anymore 😂.

    Pennzoil conventional oil still available

The good ol’ yellow labeled bottle. There’s a few other companies that still make conventional oil like Castrol, Chevron, Shell, and Valvoline to name a few. It’s becoming harder and harder to find.

    ACDelco PF66 C&P

Yes, this is probably my last C&P without a filter cutter 😂

PF66 oil filter off a 2023 Blazer w/ 2.0L. Filter was on for 3,400 miles. Filter looked fine. A flexible nitrile ADBV and the media had no waves or tears. The end caps came off quite easily. This is probably from me using a screwdriver to get the filter media out of the can. Other media tears...

Which oil filter would you run for 1year or unknown miles?

For me, CQ Premium or the like from PG and their brands. For >6 months I like to have a silicone ADBV and gasket, which the normal PG filter line doesn’t have.

Dang that was a good deal, I wish I had seen it sooner.

    What's everyone's favorite 0w-20 these days?

It depends. I shoot for 4k, sometimes earlier and sometimes later. It’s pretty dependent on my time and what I feel like doing. If I get back from work one day and the car is at 3200-3500 miles and I’m already sweaty and dirty I’ll change it. Other times I just wait until 4k rolls around.

I use Adobe Scan on my iPhone a ton, and know others on Android that do as well. It’s an amazing app and it’s very feature rich, and free! Well, unless you want picture to text conversion.

    Post your latest oil change

2023 Chevy Blazer w/ 2.0L LSY engine. Bought it with 24,700 miles. Currently has 28,100 miles. I drained out less than 5 quarts, I’m worried the drain pan is leaking, but will keep a close eye on it for the time being. It was my first oil change with the whacky plastic drain plug, what a mess...

    2016 Yamaha Waverunner V1 Sport TR1 75 hrs; LiquiMoly PWC 10W-40 35hrs

I’ve been looking forward to this UOA for a few years 😂. Looks to have sheared down pretty good, to a 30wt. I asked about this oil a while back under a different username. I ran it for a season, seemed to perform fine for the money. I now run Rotella T6 15w40, and I’m hoping it won’t shear down...

Google Fi - Don't waste your time if you want new phones

I use USMobile and would highly recommend it. Upfront pricing, annual plans to save money, and I can choose any major cell tower (T Mobile, ATT, Verizon) and switch between them depending on where I’m going.

Death Valley Drive Using Thin Oil

The hybrid system question is heavily heavily dependent upon the manufacturer. For example, Toyota and Honda use electric motor assist as much and as often as possible, especially the newer Hondas that are pretty much an electric motor with a generator. Now, about the oil. IMO, it depends on...
