Intermittent Torque Converter Lock Up -1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ - AW4

Personally I'd use the skinny pedal that's your input, you don't drive by using your hand on the throttle body. I've never adjusted those by Opening the TB manually.

Intermittent Torque Converter Lock Up -1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ - AW4

How are you adjusting the cable it's pretty easy to adjust, just push it the adjuster all the way in the mash the throttle and it should be set. I did a full fluid exchange with Valvoline DEXRON VI/MERCON LV ATF it has over 200k miles and works perfectly

Jalopnik Tells You How to Determine if Your Oil is Bad.

Gone are the days of carefully crafted articles, where you'd do some research and get some expert input. Now you have people who are not qualified on topics that are writing about how they feel on a subject for clicks.

Valvoline Maxlife ATF, the best for all applications?

On the contrary I've seen many Toyota folks switch to Maxlife without issue.

    Particle Analysis (ATF)

The laser method gives you a breakdown , looks like the pore block method would just yield an ISO code. I need to study some of the oil filter testing that was done here (GeorgeCLS) to see what I should end up doing. Simply want to see the delta between adding the Magnefine filter (nominal...

Sweet! That should be what I am looking for they use the Pore Block method not the laser type. I shot them an email to confirm.

93 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 - 210k miles. Valvoline HM syn blend 10w-30 3k miles

Dash gauge is usually wrong, you'd need to hook up a pressure gauge to confirm what the pressure is. Oil pressure is usually good unless your cam bearings are done. Valvoline MaxLife High Mileage SAE 15W-40, it's cheap. Stick to 5k OCIs but can do UOA to confirm. What was the first oil you used?

    Particle Analysis (ATF)

As we are getting closer to the end of my OCI, inquired with OAI about the partical test. Unfortunately OAI can't do dark fluids. My ATF is pitch black! They use ASTM D7647. That's almost 4000 lumens bearly lighting this fluid up hah! It appears Blackstone also says the same thing So it...

I'm running 15W40 HEDO in my XJ. The gauge cluster is most certainly wrong but you have oil pressure :D

The trans works when cold when the fluid is much thicker so 5.2 vs 6.3 at operating temp is no big deal.

    interesting experience at fuel/convenience station

I would have walked out as well, you did the correct thing and they lost out. Not your problem. They probraly get kickbacks at the ATM too. I've ordered food in the past when it got time to pay. Same thing cash only, we have an ATM! too bad they didn't tell me, no signs, so I walked away.

Right Way to Road Force Balance?

Id request before and after road force values. Usually you have to pay more for road force, id want them to do it even if the number doesn't change much an improvement still an improvement.

    HPL PPPC 0W-20 VOA

Ever since that post that Blackstone (and potentially other labs) hot swaps oil in their tester without cleaning in-between, you can get some cross contamination from the previous sample, so there is always that.
