So I finally jumped on the Amsoil wagon...

I have thought about running amsoil. Some questions on it. Is it advisable to run a bypass filter or change filters ever so often if your going to push over 10k? Concerns are motorcraft filters on my f150 and if they would hold up to that kind of milage. Suppose i can go with an amsoil filter...

Testing a Test of Tests for Tests

I think there should be a 3rd engine running the appropiate grade reccomended as a base. The theory of my not so scientific test that has been running in countless threads on this site is that a vehicle designed to run a specific oil, say 10w30, and people want to put in thinner oil that may or...

Testing a Test of Tests for Tests

So I was just reading some uoa's and a ProjectFarm video came to mind. If a guy purchsed 2 identicle brand new engines, (small 4 cycle single cylinder lawn mower type) and put them side by side at the same "red lined" rpm, ultimately running the engines until destructuon. What 2 oil viscosities...

    Pat's [Goss] Perspective: thicker oil

And this is exactly why I havent put 5/10w30 in my f150 so many have argued thats better. And then get the "cafe" oil lecture soon after....

Post your latest small engine oil change

So I got bored and decided to change oil in all my equipment. I have found that the oil on the dipstick is misleading. Looks clean on the dipstick but it came out looking like pepsi. Cub cadet Lawnmower, yardman weed wacker, troybuilt edger. All 3 same story. Ran for 5 mins and dumped and...

Post your latest small engine oil change

Changing from PP 10w30 to SuperTech Full Synth 10w30 in my cub cadet push mower. Interested in seeing how its going to do, the PP still looks like new after a season of use last year.

    Ford Coyote 5.0 5w20 vs 5w30

Question! Putting high milage oil in an engine thats not seaping/leaking past seals is not reccomend, that high milage oil has seal swellers in it and using it in an engine that doesnt leak or seap oil out of the seals "may start to" if you switch later to non hm oils. Is there any truth to...

    Ford Coyote 5.0 5w20 vs 5w30

I dont mind loosing mpg to gain protection if its there. I will put my current fill through its paces and fill with 5w30 and see what Blackstone says.

    Ford Coyote 5.0 5w20 vs 5w30

I have pppp 5w20 with motorcraft filter on it now. 2014 5.0. Not that i want to go to 30w but rather would it be more beneficial? Would it possibly have better wear protection at all? Could it prevent the common engine tick? I know the new mustang gt's call for 5w20. The gt500 with the 5.2L...

    Ford Coyote 5.0 5w20 vs 5w30

Why does Ford call for such a thin oil? They use 5w20 for "fuel efficiency requirements" is what im told by numerous people, and i should go with 5w30. Would there not be any mechanical reasons to run only 5w20? 5w30 isnt that much different, but there has to be more to the question of why they...

    Honda GSV190

Its much farther along than in this now, its down to almost bare frame. And the engine cover will be jd green not red... Im also going to change gear oil, I have a couple bottles of supertech 80w90 to fill it up with. I think I may go with your 15w40 recommendation. Ill probobly change once a...
