    Kia Sludge Factory

I saw stuff like this fairly often at the Ford dealership I worked for. OEM assy. line filters still in place on stuff, lol! One woman froze up a T-bird motor (the V8 small one) at about 32K because she never changed OR added.

    I drove my first electric - 2025 BMW i4 M50

Yeah, and EV is best for that. Never stopping for fuel hits different.

    I drove my first electric - 2025 BMW i4 M50

People complain about the Mach E Mustang because it's not a real mustang. Meanwhile, plenty of ranchers would like to have a word with Ford because the Mustang has tires and not hooves. You should have seen the protests in the 60's!

    I drove my first electric - 2025 BMW i4 M50

I strongly prefer EV, but the one challenge is that sometimes chargers are vandalized or broken or simply "not working" for whatever reason, and in the rural parts of this country, that means 1) Big detours, or 2) Failure. I have my P7B for trips where I do not know the boots on the ground route...

    I drove my first electric - 2025 BMW i4 M50

I have a trip like that. I typically just stop at a gas station (they have chargers) at thr mid way point, charge for 15min while I eat a slice pizza and use the restroom, and then leave. It gets me to 90%. I then charge to 90% at my destination while doing other stuff, and repeat the process on...

    I drove my first electric - 2025 BMW i4 M50

2.5 years will put it at 30k or less. EV doesn't hold value, but most of us don't care and knew that going in. Just like we knew our spicy gaming PC wouldn't be worth much jn a few years either.

    Blazer EV SS - Nice!

I dunno. I can lock my ev6 GT into rwd mode and it doesn't get anywhere near the efficiency of the rwd model, even though it uses SiC inverters etc and the delta is more than tires/rims would explain imo.

Time saved by not going to gas stations in non road trip scenarios: Rivian vs CX-9

I own both ev and gas. The gas car needs far more time at the dealership, as well. It's definitely less convenient except on a road trip, and then only some road trips. Many 500+ mi trips are equal between i e and ev in my timed experience. It's when you go on uncharted trips where maybe the...

He works in the medical field. I presume he was addressing people who could put 800wk away if they drove a beater, and bought a cheaper home or rented a cheaper apartment and didnt go on vacation all the bloody time or order out every shift. He's not wrong. But we can also end up dead by 40 and...

    Retirement investing...

Nah, I think he was talking about people like me. I spent a ton of money on stuff that made me happy in the moment vs investing. Like a new z06 for my 25th birthday, etc. But you know what? I could die tomorrow. And I wanted to balance planning vs living. Im very okay with how it's gone.

    2028 Toyota GR86 replacement!

I was initially, but the B58 is a better motor than Toyota could ever hope to dream up, so there's that. Still hanging on to the 2JZ? Cool, but it's a relic. Sure, it has a hella stout block, and is factory turboed, but so is and so does the B58. Literally a tune+DP gets you in the 10's at...

    Crown Vic P7B...a good buy?

This car is exceedingly slow, but with 128K miles on the clock, bone stock, it DOES out-perform the 2011 test data from the Michigan State Police.

Interesting comparison between LEV and EV

Volvo did a white paper on their XC40 and XC40 EV. The crossover was around 70K miles on average, cradle to grave.

Paralyzed by choices: CR-V, Venza or CX-5?

Typically they use beet juice on our roads, but parkinglots get salted.
