Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

Yes, only a single test and “anecdotal”. But it will be the only one to date (that I’m aware of) that will give data on filtration AND status of bypass. If it’s negative on light test, we won’t learn much, but if it demonstrates a leak, it will at least give us some perspective as to impact on...

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

I now await for Mitsuman47 to post his UOA with particle analyses using an Endurance filter including flashlight test. It’s about as close as we’re going to get until BR or another lab does it….and I don’t see that coming any time soon…if ever!

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

Got it. What filters available show almost zero in 21-38 range then? Not sure what the “57.8” you were referring to? The BR Fram particle test 21-38 showed “17” for FE and “570” and “34” for Tough Guard and Ultra respectively. 🤷 Of course there was confirmation on bypass status of tested filters.

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

Correct me if I’m wrong, but those former filters you mentioned have a very high efficiency rating. “Should” a larger particle make it through the bypass gap, it’s almost certain it would be caught in the next pass 15 or so seconds later. Odds of going through tiny gap a second time would...

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

Thanks for doing that leak test. Mitsuman47 is going to perform a particle count and hopefully a flashlight leak test soon. I would like to see this done on back to back OCs as well. Albeit not an ISO test, it will be revealing nonetheless. On another note.. Keep in mind, any bypass getting...

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

Thanks Question still remains How does this seepage affect overall performance, especially with a superior media?

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

He’s essentially suggesting the reverse of what OP did pouring oil from the other end. If there is leakage. there should be drop in oil level from tube side via “gravity” as OP suggested.

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

I would like to see the particle results with subsequent tear down and flashlight test post OC. Then run another OC with new filter..same model filter..same oil. …and perform another flashlight test. In essence back to back tests, with different filters that are clones.

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

Couldn’t “hurt” and would be another “data point.” Would you be willing to cut it open and perform a “flashlight” test on it?

Fram Endurance Flashlight Test in canister

Burden’s on you to refute and prove current current claims by Fram (and BR results) are invalid. Finding a “potential leak” doesn’t refute those results does it?? I’ll let current results do the talking until you can prove otherwise. Ball’s in your court.
