    M1 ESP 0W-30 vs M1 Euro/FS 0W-40

No mention of VW specs in the excerpt I could find.

    M1 ESP 0W-30 vs M1 Euro/FS 0W-40

The only excerpt I have found of this mythical paper compared a "Euro 3" oil to a "Euro 4" oil, with the Euro 3 oil causing significantly more deposits. No mention of C3 or "all else being equal." How old is Euro 3? 2000? Comparing a 20 year-old oil to a 25 year-old oil and making conclusions...

    M1 ESP 0W-30 vs M1 Euro/FS 0W-40

That paper seems to only exist in forum references. It is not clear which oils were compared, except that it was only two different oils. Unless SAPS levels were the only difference Re: volatility, this is from this survey paper: https://inig.pl/magazyn/nafta-gaz/NAFTA-GAZ-2014-04-04.pdf...

    M1 ESP 0W-30 vs M1 Euro/FS 0W-40

No, valve deposits are related to base oil selection, particularly volatility. Low SAPS is for GPF/OPF compatibility.

German lug bolts are better than ROW lug nuts, true?

I do like studs for ease of swapping wheels. After owning german cars for a few years though, you master the art of holding the wheel up with your feet while you line it up and get the first couple bolts in. Wheel hangers and hubcentric wheels make it bearable. Studs get bent or broken. Less...

    M1 ESP 0W-30 vs M1 Euro/FS 0W-40

    230F is nothing for a euro 5w30.

    Amsoil Euro 5w-40

I return it immediately after purchasing, so using a receipt is never a problem.

    Amsoil Euro 5w-40

Yes. Never had a problem doing this at AAP or AZ. Should be full credit (I got $18 back for a M1 filter last time).

    Amsoil Euro 5w-40

ESP is a mid-saps formula with some esters. AMSoil has a mid-saps 5w40 but I'm not sure if we know exactly what bases AMSoil is using. None of the Amsoil options are approved or recommended for VW 511 or Porsche C40, so that is probably the key distinction for most ESP buyers.

    Mobil 1 "Advanced Clean" 5w-30

All of that is marketing weasel wording. "Helps increase" "Helps fight sludge" Even if you take the bottle marketing at face value, where is the Hybrid bottle saying "helps hold water in emulsification 2x longer!"? Sounds like it's mostly optimistic projection onto a marketing strategy. Zero...

Maybe AFE does. Do you have data suggesting otherwise?

    Loitering Drones

Shooting at an airborne target without a backdrop violates basic gun safety (on top of being a felony). That said, you can do some serious damage to a digital camera with a high powered laser...

    Mobil 1 "Advanced Clean" 5w-30

No idea, you said oils for hybrids can emulsify water. Just pointing out that almost any modern oil can do that. Is there a hybrid-specific spec that has stricter requirements?

Amsoil SS 5w-50, 3.1k mi; Ford Focus RS, 2.3L EB, 59k mi

Sometimes. I've had DI cleaned and tested that simply out-flowed a new injector by 10+%. This was post-ultrasonic cleaning, so no deposits. End of the day they are mechanical devices and do fatigue.

That's a requirement of any API approved oil at least back to SN.

Sharing some shearing test results about Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30...

X3 looks nearly identical to X4 on FTIR. Seems like it was drop-in replacement for updated SP approval and C40 GT split? Who knows until someone does real testing.

    Mobil1 ESP question

I know this is bait too, but I have a foreign vehicle which explicitly requires API SN. Japanese carmakers seem especially lenient on the minimum standards, I think Honda is the only one I've seen with their own spec.

Engine Oil choices at a Ukrainian version of American Lowe’s

Just works really well in my experience. At least their spray lubes for stuff like hinges, rubber trim. Stays in place forever. Going to try their brake lube once my sil-glyde runs out.

How do you know it "fights moisture?"
