    Honda mower ... rodent damage

Glad you found the nest, I've seen many cases where mouse nests have cost people engines on their mowers due to overheating. Same with damage in cars. My grandparents have a car that sits a lot since they don't drive much, they had to spend about a thousand on it last year when mice got into...

    New Husqvarna 390xp photo shoot.

Should work very well, nice setup. Spent a few hours cutting today with my Jonsered CS2171 and 20" Tsumura bar.

What oil filter are you using on OPE, boats, snowblower generator etc?

I go through a bunch of OPE oil filters every year. Typically I use what I think is decent enough that I can get on sale. Fram, Champ, SuperTech. Lately I've been using some Kawasaki OEM filters which are made by Champ and have good construction. I don't have a Carquest nearby, and Donaldson...

Oil filter change interval on Kawasaki FR730V

Interesting, I've run the 3614 filter on many Kawasakis without issue, but never M1 HM 10w30 so hard to say. I will caution those who plan on running massive oil filters on their small engines. Yes, in theory you can help with cooling (maybe by 2 degrees?) and you do increase capacity, but...

    New Husqvarna 390xp photo shoot.

Nice saw! I also leave my work saws mostly stock, just seems to keep them less finicky and sensitive to temperature changes. I do a muffler mod and that's usually it. The 20" bar is interesting, but I see that a lot too. Lots of guys around here with massive saws and a 20" bar. I have an 18"...

Thinking of getting an electric lawn mower

I have quite a few customers who have battery mowers now. Battery mowers have come a long way, and are great for many use cases. A vacation home where you don't want to store gasoline for long periods of time or deal with carb issues is one example, or for small yards. They have decent power...

Log Splitter with Briggs 190cc Flathead Any Good?

Pretty bullet proof. Why weren't they good on power washers? The only failures I've seen with them have been due to owners not checking the oil or keeping mice nests out from the shroud.

Info on modern Ram 6.7 Cummins

If you don't need the diesel for very frequent towing I would look for a Ram 6.4. There is a reason the 6.7 is very similar in price.

How to re-dress drive side of chainsaw chain?

Yeah I see this all the time. "I just bought this chain". Yeah well someone must've hit 20 rocks with it.

Help Deciding Between Two On Road AT Tires

I don't have any experience with those tires, but I recently put Firestone Destination AT2's on my Grand Cherokee, and have been very impressed so far. I'm no stranger to aggressive tires with my past Jeeps, but wanted something still road friendly and quiet, quieter than the BFG AT KO2s on my...

used car choice ... older low mileage vs newer high mileage

Neither are good choices unfortunately. I like that Honda, but low mileage older cars have issues from age and sitting. Things like brittle plastic bits and hoses, parts being hard to find, leaks, etc. A higher mileage newer car is probably a better bet, but only if it has been maintained...

    200hr oci for kubota L2501?

I've cut open several of them with zero issues. It's a D1105 on a Kubota B2620. I change the oil yearly. I probably put between 50-100 hours on the machine a year. Oil and filters are cheap.

Which New Walk Behind Mower You Would Buy Today?

If you are using it for mulching or tall grass definitely buy the largest engine option. Mulching uses a lot of HP.

Which New Walk Behind Mower You Would Buy Today?

Dang mine had a GCV160 Honda engine option but it looks like they no longer offer that from their website. I'd go with the largest displacement, 190cc.

    200hr oci for kubota L2501?

I've run these as well on my Kubota until they became hard to find. Have a 9688 on it now.

    Amazon #party rant

Both Amazon and Walmart have started to make it impossible to do anything besides leave a positive review. I had a few issues with buying things online from WalMart that either never shipped or shipped and I never received them. What a nightmare, customer service basically sends you in circles...

Best 18 bar / chain combo for 545 Mark ii

Understood, but if it were mine I would buy a quality bar and chain in the factory spec'd size and just run that. I think you would notice the performance difference more than a difference in chain wear/sharpness. A nice quality lightweight bar like a Sugihara or Tsumura would be a worthy...

Best way to dump a customer?

That type of person will always exist whether you own your own business or work for an employer. With my side business, I simply have "fired" those customers and don't deal with them anymore. Most of them just had unrealistic expectations, wanted something for nothing, etc. The effort wasted...

Best 18 bar / chain combo for 545 Mark ii

Is there a reason you want to change the chain size? Are you going through that much chain? Pro logger? I have 4 saws, only two of them use the same size chain. I heat my house with about 7 cords a year, and help my father heat his with about the same. It hasn't been an issue as far as...
