    Recovering a Odyssey

Odyssey wants 14+ when charging. Whether by a car alternator or wall charger. Float is different, and can be lower...but is temperature compensated. It can be over 14vt if your garage is in the teens or twenties, but can be 13vt if it is in the mid to upper 90s. I have run AGMs in many cars...

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 Dark Color -- could it be fake?

It my case, all eBay sellers fulfilled their orders through WalMart...so there is no question to authenticity. There are plenty of car dealers, autoparts retailers, etc all selling motor oil...no issue with them either. Like any purchase on eBay, you need to do a bit of research on the seller...

    Continental Tire rebate 7/1 - 8/31/2025

I can vouch that the TerrainContact H/T wear like iron and perform very well. I have about 50k miles and barely half through the tread. Surprisingly good tread wear. They are the top rated all season truck tire on Consumer Reports.

    Aftermarket Air Mass Meters

Search ELM 327 scanners on eBay...they are super cheap and the apps are free. Though paid apps can give you more functionality. You may need to do a bit of research to determine which apps allow you to read MAF live data. So inexpensive, I keep one in each car. Handy to read and clear codes...

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 Dark Color -- could it be fake?

I just checked a bottle of Pennzoil euro 5w-40...its definitely darker than the Pennzoil Euro L 5w-30...

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 Dark Color -- could it be fake?

Wow, never heard of that...I sell tens of thousands each year on eBay and get scammed every so often...I have had little recourse. I call eBay customer service, but they always take the side of the buyer...I get it, they need to, in order to keep buyers coming to their site.

    Toyota Oil Filters

None that I am aware of. I was responding to post #13, who was responding to post #12 in this thread.

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 Dark Color -- could it be fake?

It's "buyer beware"...trust but verify. But the buyer rules on eBay. No matter what the seller policies are for returns, the buyer always has the right to return or refund when the product is counterfeit or not as described in the listing. I have rolled the dice on a few purchases of motor...

    Toyota Oil Filters

So flow differences between filters prior to bypass are not of any value?

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 Dark Color -- could it be fake?

I have gotten great deals on eBay for jugs of oil...Pennzoil Euro L 5w-30 synthetic ($23 free ship) and Quaker State Euro Synthetic 5w-40 ($18 free ship)...all orders were fulfilled by Walmart, even though the sellers were from NY, Vietnam and Malaysia.

    Toyota Oil Filters

I also use Toyota filters..I buy 8 or 10 at a time when Toyota has the 25% off online sale. $3 each, free shipping, not tax. I currently have 388,000 miles on my 2007 4.7 Tundra.

    Recovering a Odyssey

NOCO does not make an Odyssey approved charger. While it is not mandatory to use an approved charger, these are the situations where it might be important. https://www.odysseybattery.com/charger-comparison-tool/ "To get long life from the ODYSSEY battery, it is important that the battery is...

    K&N air filters at K&N.com

Its been proven to be the case. The question is how damaging is that in real use? Probably not much...I used to install K&N filters in everything I owned...cars, truck, motorcycles. About 20 years ago I stopped and have only used OEM air filters. While I never had an issue over 100k miles on...

    21 RX350 and a PulseTech XC400

I switched from the Battery Minder 2012 AGM to the Pulse Tech XC450 (set to AGM mode) last night...noted the lower bulk/absorption charging voltage, as well as the lower float voltage...not sure what to make of that. Just different algorithm. On the graph you can see when I went for a drive...

    Battery Charger Testing Results

Not surprising. It is clear some desulfation modes simply do not work in all cases. My Granite Digital "save a battery" battery tender claims its pulse desulfation during float mode would both prevent and remove sulfation, but was clearly not the case for my two batteries. It was in regular...

    Battery Charger Testing Results

From personal experience, I have found the Battery Minder brand did bring back two batteries (one AGM, the other flooded) that were dropping in CCA, and came back to exceed their CCA rating. In both cases they were run on another battery tender that also claimed to have pulse desulfation mode...

    12V battery charger question

That method of running the battery up on voltage is faster to desulfate, but risky as shown. Battery Minder uses a pulse effect during the float stage...it does this continuously. If the battery is already sulfated, it can take a couple months or more to fully defulfate it. But if any other...

    Battery Charger Testing Results

The desulfation method depends on the algorithm, but for most that can be used with the battery in the car, it is going to be some sort of pulse technology. What you are describing above is the common algorithm to properly charge an AGM battery, not desulfate it. But properly charging it helps...
