I am unsure on the vehicle you're looking for specifically, but IME the Japanese do things much differently than the Germans or US. German and US cars you can get a massive amount of combinations of trim levels and packages. With Japanese cars, they don't really work like that. The trim levels...

My vehicle is the same way. I put in 6.5 and it shows full even though the spec is 7. I've never had it not show full so I suspect it just reads full until it needs a quart :unsure:

It's not like they are doing it for a specific reason, it's just how the assembly line and parts availability worked out. Most likely they have one person on each side of the line installing plugs and they each have their own spark plug supply which gets filled with whatever the last shipment was.

Can't it be situation dependent? Took a loan on the wife's Subaru because rates were 2.9% even though I could have paid cash no problem. Paid cash for the balance on my vehicle because the rate was at 9.8%.

I would probably give the mating surface on the pan a light scuffing with some scotchbrite and maybe also get a new drain plug. You could also try a copper or fibre washer instead of the aluminum one. I wouldn’t try higher torgue on the plug.

My opinion - No need at all to go into a Euro grade 30, or 40 grade oil (>3.5 HTHS) unless you are seeing oil temps over 270. A regular ILSAC 5w30 with HTHS ~3.1 will be more than sufficient for track use with this vehicle.

I'm all for investing but unless you have significant amount of money invested in Visa/MC you're definitely not making back the 3% surcharge you're paying on pretty much everything. Maybe if your card also offers a couple % back as well.
