    "Fuel Efficiency Standards Are Dead"

Well, you are wrong. Regardless, CA is the largest non-nation economy in the world, by far, currently between Germany and Japan. There is a reson for it. California's economy is largely driven by private businesses and free markets, making it a powerful capitalist system. That enables...

    2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV

You seem to be making it a competition. I'm not sure you get to make the rules. My EV is a lot more than a nice runaround. It's amazing.

    2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV

I have a 65 442, 68 Corvette Roadster 427 and a 24 M3P. I guess I just don't get it, huh? Not sure what it will take... Past cars include a 66 GTO, 2 early FireChickens, 4 Vettes, lotsa pickups, especially old ones.

Lucid Air Sets New Record 747 Miles on a Single Charge

The depreciation on EVs is crazy, no doubt. I knew that going in when we bought the '18 Moel 3 Mid Range. Well, maybe not as bad as it was gonna be... Ha!

Ford recalls over 850,000 cars in the US due to potential fuel pump failure

The new Tundra lack of quality is stunning. Our trusty old 2001 only has about 220K and has never seen the inside of the garage, except for minor work like oil changes, brakes, etc. It ain't for sale. My BIL got a 2020ish F-150 with the bigger V6 and 10 speed; it's beautiful! He loves it; I've...

Ford recalls over 850,000 cars in the US due to potential fuel pump failure

Remember the days when you could order an Impala with whatever combinations of options? The GM Bill of Materials was off the freakin' chart. Was it Toyota who started groups? I believe manufacturers will move to simplified options, GigaPress style frames, etc. This enables automation...

    How to tax EVs

I was convinced our first Model 3 was a nice toy, around town car, etc. I was wrong. The Model 3 is amazing. Period. I have never been so satisfied with a car. I am planning on taking a spin in the new Juniper in the just-opened Los Gatos Tesla store (at the site of the former Moore GMC...

Ford recalls over 850,000 cars in the US due to potential fuel pump failure

Ford put America into cars with it's Highland Park plant. It was the first factory in history to assemble automobiles on a moving assembly line. It pains me to see their troubles.

    How to tax EVs

Sure there are challenges. But most modern cars have connectivity. There could be a cell phone app... Make it an annual manual entry with a 3 year (or 5 year) true up. And at time of sale. Who knows? You're right; I don't know much about all the state's requirements. But if we are gonna charge...

    How to tax EVs

Charging at home, especially with solar, has to be experienced to be appreciated. It sounds silly, but it would be a struggle for me to buy another ICE vehicle, unless it's a PU. I have grown to hate going to gas stations, and then there's the bill... Ouch!

Ford recalls over 850,000 cars in the US due to potential fuel pump failure

You buy the vehicle, not the fuel pump. Ford gets the black eye.

    How to tax EVs

Why not just report it? We are so connected today, it should be a snap. Software is cheap and allows for standardization. Standards make our lives easy. Otherwise you get a bazillion systems that don't talk to each other and are fair to no one.

NEW Vehicle Advice / Recommendations: Anyone? Subaru or Toyota? What says the gang?

People love the RAV4. I service a friend's newer hybrid; it rides less squishy than the earlier Toyotas. As @ecotourist posted, at least check out the Mazdas; they seem to offer a lot for the $$. Good luck.

    How to tax EVs

Consumption yes, but not of electricity. Mileage and weight. That's way too complicated (too many reporting sources) and far too general math. Just report mileage annually.

Latest budget makes interest on American made cars fully deductible.

Teslas, but not sure where you classify them. I would like to see an American material content constraint as well.
