It's interesting that the OEM filters for Nissan, Honda, Toyota and Mazda do not filter well. That is, they only catch the bigger particles and yet they have a reputation for well made long lasting engines. Learn something everyday.

Best thing you can do is not change the filter until it's well used. New filters let in a lot of dirt. Get your money's worth.

In my experience OEM filters are consistently of average quality or better. Many manufactures [OEM] spec a filter change every second oil change. My son's Honda is one and my old Dodge same thing. Correct! I was actually thinking that I liked how well the bypass valve appears to seal. Overall not a bad filter but I'm planning on using a much bigger filter [Hyundai]. There appears to be room and it has much more filter media. The standard Mazda size filter is tiny.

I think it's obvious....people are scared with the current trade/tariff and world affairs situation. There is a lot of bad news out there. As people put off discretionary spending sales plummet leading to more layoffs...leading to more bad news. It snow balls. Things might get a lot worse.

If I change a caliper or wheel cylinder I might flush the one line but other than that, I haven't flushed/changed brake fluid in 50 years. My cars use DOT 3 and just like my owner's manual says.......no need to change brake fluid. Never noticed a problem.
