    2018 Honda Fit VCT rattle

Hmm, maybe I should call Honda USA? I know I contacted them a couple of years back about the rattle. They wouldn't do jack about it.

    2018 Honda Fit VCT rattle

For the K24W1 motors? The car is 12 years old. Idk if Honda will actually cover this.

    2018 Honda Fit VCT rattle

I got off the phone with my mechanic. Here's the kit that he has been using over the years on the K24W1 engines: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=14048621&cc=3294155&pt=5756&jsn=935

    2018 Honda Fit VCT rattle

My dad's had the cold start rattle for 60k~ miles (the car was out of warranty at the time). I think he's got 125k~ miles now. I've heard people have replaced the timing chain tensioner but the noise comes back after a while. I spoke to my mechanic who's an ex-Toyota/Honda technician. He said...

    I was Sick

Crazy, I felt "under" the weather on New Year's day. Nothing crazy, just a headache. So, I went to work Thursday. I work 9-7 Thursday. Around 5 pm, I started getting the chills bad. Like my whole body was shaking. I kinda brushed it off thinking it was just the weather. It's pretty cold out in...

Replace both sides pads and rotors or only the side where the Caliper is bad?

Ended up having to have the rear left side caliper replaced as well. My mechanic was replacing the rear left side rotor and pointed out that the seal on the original caliper was non-existent. Ended up ordering a new caliper from Advance Auto for $62. Total job cost me $428 parts and labor($138...

Replace both sides pads and rotors or only the side where the Caliper is bad?

Just watched a video from TRQ. Seems easy. Well, I guess I'll just replace the pads on both sides and rotor on the right side.

Replace both sides pads and rotors or only the side where the Caliper is bad?

I think the right side pad is done for. Seems like metal to rotor contact. So, not going to drive the car util parts come. How hard is it to replace the hose? I'll just replace the right side rotor, caliper and put new pads on both right and left side

Replace both sides pads and rotors or only the side where the Caliper is bad?

Welp, the rear right-side caliper is frozen on the 2006 Accord. Do you guys recommend replacing both side pads and rotors or just the right sides? Brakes and rotors were replaced at 104K. I am at 125k miles.

Underneath Valve Cover 2013 Honda Accord EX 2.4L

Feeler gauges are like $5 at harbor freight lol. Maybe when it gets warmer out I'll take a look at them.

Underneath Valve Cover 2013 Honda Accord EX 2.4L

That I did not do. I don't like doing things that can potentially "ruin" the motor. I don't hear any "clanking" noises so we haven't gotten the valves adjusted. Maybe I'll have our mechanic do it at 150k.

Underneath Valve Cover 2013 Honda Accord EX 2.4L

I finally had time to do the VCG on Dad's Accord. It doesn't look bad underneath the valve cover. The car has 122k~ miles on it. I've been using Valvoline full synthetic 0w-20 oil along with Mobil 1 oil filter since 2013. Oil gets changed whenever the Maintenance reminder is down to 15%-25%...

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 leaking oil

I had the timing belt done at 122k. Mechanic didn't mention any leaks from there at the time.

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 leaking oil

Hmm maybe I should try 5w-30 instead or 5w-20?

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 leaking oil

Yeah from my understanding, Valvoline HM Synthetic blend might be the best option here. Supertech HM oil seems to suck 😂

2006 Honda Accord EX V6 leaking oil

Not sure. The previous owner had the oil changed at WoodMans Food Market. I was initially going to go with SuperTech HighMileage 5w-20. But, I've read good things about Valvoline Maxlife.
