    RIP Larry McClure

We had a Kodak affiliated minilab 1 hour store (remember paper photos??) back then and I was into NASCAR. We brought in a KODAK race car as a promotion and had 500 people show up over the 4 hours it was there. This in a town less than 10,000. The car we got had raced at Watkins Glen a week...

    What Constitutes a true BITOGer

An unusual attraction to motor oil. Every thing else is a complication stemming from that.

    Wife had a mishap today.

It's good that your wife is proactive but a call to you before sending money off might have been appropriate. I'd mention that I'd like a heads up with something like this and move on, done is done. Hopefully.

3/4 Ton Gas vs Diesel vs Tundra

The Tundra will be a better daily driver, the 3/4 ton will tow better and will be less fun driving in the city. Which is more important? A 3/4 ton gas might get better mileage than a Tundra. The newer trucks are big.

U.S. world's largest oil producer at over 20 percent.

Those percentages total 74%. Says report from 2023 at the bottom. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but what about the other 26%?

    Water heater advice

What's your water like? People here claim tankless water heaters don't last long here due to the minerals making deposits inside. There are cleaning procedures that apparently can be quite involved. Might check that.

Almost quit cycling, but I'm back on the saddle again

Speaking of tandems, we had a steel Yokota mountain bike tandem that was mainly ridden on the street. When my son was around 10 we entered a local road race with it. They had no tandem class so we started dead last. We started passing bikes and passed 95 or so by the finish. One guy drafted...

Almost quit cycling, but I'm back on the saddle again

Beautiful. That's doesn't look like it's seen much dirt. It was built with Magura brakes but they got moved to another bike. Shorter/higher stem and swept bars and soft grips for the vintage rider with arthritis.

Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

Used that logic and bought a new 2014 RAV4 at a dealer an hour away. Toyotas never need warranty work. On the way home from delivery the infotainment head unit died. 2 or 3 trips back and a week with a loaner and it got fixed.

Almost quit cycling, but I'm back on the saddle again

Good that you came back to the bikes. I still ride a Litespeed Pisgah of similar vintage as your Owl Hollow. (y) At least you didn't give in and buy an ebike. (You don't need one.)

Speaking as a first person in a resume, and other resume tips from Richard Rose

My daughter says you now have to construct your resume to get past the AI the HR departments are using to filter applicants. I guess there are Apps for that. This might apply to jobs that are getting nationwide applications. No idea who Richard Rose is.

Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

I live 100 miles from phoenix and that’s where the closest dealer would be. Too much hassle if it would need any warranty work.

Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

Won't buy a new car that I'd have to drive 100 miles to the dealer so no.

2019 Malibu, something wrong with suspension.

Good luck finding a piece of pavement that isn't off 1/4-3/8" between the 4 contact patches. Mark the location of the 4 tires and turn the car around and place it on those spots and see what it reads. Will confirm or deny measurements.
