    Amsoil metric oil

Question FarmForce: print on the label would be something "slapped up there", and not accurate from a reputable company when it isn't the official logo when claiming it meets the spec? Looking for clarification on the context.

getting honda xr150l...oil & chain lube recommendations

That's missing the forest for the trees, IMO. Rollers need lubricant on the sprocket. I would wager a chain with no lube simply because it is X-Ring or O-ring versus one that is lubed correctly won't last as long. I use Honda lube, in the spray can. Has red labeling and is a moly lube. Very...

2024 Kawasaki 1000SX - What oil and filter?

I'll second all the choices in the above post, they include what I'd recommend in the mobil products and amsoil has no flies on it either. I wouldn't rule out a 20w50 if you're in a warm climate. However if Kawasaki only recommends a 15w50 as the heaviest oil, it's up to you whether you want...

2024 Kawasaki 1000SX - What oil and filter?

Four days since the misinformation/cut and paste, and no rebuttal. If I was certain about something with my posts, I'd be all hands on deck to back it up. Unless photo shoots are taking up time?

2024 Kawasaki 1000SX - What oil and filter?

If you've been a regular participant here for any number of recent years, you've seen some of the back-and-forth others of us in this thread have had calling out miss information and miss representation. It's been going on as long as I've been here. There's not been an original thought from that...

I added to my post, about the pics and a few other things while you were posting the above.

2024 Kawasaki 1000SX - What oil and filter?

Who is Marv, what is his expertise, does he do what he's told with respect to oil and pictures qualify him as someone to follow on oil advice that you gave him? Apparently there are TWO guys now that run 10w30 in their homologated sport bikes. How has that extra horsepower worked out on the...

LSJr ... The Motor Oil Geek talks about motorcycle oils.

For the collective ... The only 10w40 Mobil lists besides 10w40 4T racing is 10w40 high mileage. 870 ppm zinc, 800 ppm phosphorus. 10w40 "Auto" as it appears a few posts above does not exist. Firing up the microwave to make some popcorn while waiting for a current analysis of the automobile...

Fwiw, I edited/added to my post as Pablo was quoting me. Please see my post above his for the full content.

    Amsoil metric oil

BLS, who do you say supplies Amsoil their oil? If there's a problem, come up with a solution or at least information to add to the discussion. I'll put my money on Pablo, no questions asked! Pablo, who does Amsoil use as a base oil supplier? Are you privy to that information? Is it different...

    Harley-Davidson 22 Fatboy Model 114: 2 UOAs

WG1982, try attaching again. You have us on pins and needles... 😉 In any case, M1 20w50 V Twin is a great choice, despite "cooper" being up for some reason.

    Harley-Davidson 22 Fatboy Model 114: 2 UOAs

THAT is funny. But yes, no attachment no matter how many UOA's on it.

    Motul 7100 vs HPL MC/ATV

M1 10w40 4T or M1 20w50 V Twin are the real deal for 5,000 mile OCI's, I've posted many in the UOA section. Amsoil 20W50 in there right now, 3,500 miles on it as I didn't get as many miles this year. It'll go to 5,000 total miles which should be May/June next spring here in Colorado. Will report.

    Motul 7100 vs HPL MC/ATV

Pricing means a lot, agree. Same question applies if short tripping, what's the experience (analysis) showing HPL or any oil being a better short trip oil? Analysis is good marker point. HPL is good oil, not saying anything to the contrary. If HPL or another oil are similar in regular analysis...

    Motul 7100 vs HPL MC/ATV

Curious how HPL UOA's compare to main stream oil UOA's in terms of wear? How much less wear are folks experiencing? By the way they are talked about, should be notable. I'd hit it if it really makes a difference in wear.

Any wisdom on KTM 790/890 Cam wear problems?

I don't disagree, either way, KTM is in a whole pile of poop. Are they "too big to fail"? Regardless, how's warranty work going to be handled expediently or at all (at some point)?

Any wisdom on KTM 790/890 Cam wear problems?

For crap sake, just saw KTM is almost $3 billion in the hole. Get those cams replaced quick boys.

    Valvoline Restore Protect 5w-30, 5149 Miles, 14 S60 T5

Yes, like I shared a few posts back when I entered the thread I'm gonna stick with it for at least four OCI's as per Valvoline. I can see inside the oil fill hole it cleans up the surface varnish on the visible cam cap/bolt, for sure may need more time to do the rings. Even if I don't see any...

    Valvoline Restore Protect 5w-30, 5149 Miles, 14 S60 T5

It goes without saying if oil consumption persists, it's the engine design. I've laid out clearly with no ambitions or delusions that an oil will fix something mechanical. Again, the engines did not consume abnormal amounts of oil until the engines had miles on them and carbon builds up under...
